~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

First I’d like to show you what I purchased from Rhonda she had them on her blog for sale and I just fell in love with the bunny and the BLACK coverlet on him, not to good of a pic so I did it in black & white…I just took it and it’s about 8 PM so the light isn’t to good in here. I have him on the drysink but I know he won’t stay there to long:)

What have I been working on? Not much but I did decide to do some cross stitch on some osenberg fabric so far so good but it sure is hard on the eyes even with the magnifying glass. It’s a free pattern from Stacey Nash and done in black thread…hope I can finish it:0

I’m almost done with Michele’s sofa table I just have to paint underneath it then sand, then later on stain which I maybe able to do next week since the temperature is supposed to be alot warmer. How wonderful it will be to be to open the garage door and work on something, been a long time since I’ve did that!

The watering cans I’ve picked up at GW the one on the right I found today, the one on the left I’ll probably paint.

Well ladies, I’m starting to get tired here, I worked Monday and Tuesday and Oh, I got to see Char too…always good to see her!

I really tried to get this done by yesterday but with taking Samantha to school and picking her up and making dinner… Chris had dinner with us, I just didn’t get the time I needed to get it done. I found this cabinet at GW, I almost left it because of the engraving in the wood on the door but I’ve learned IF YOU LIKE IT DON’T LEAVE IT BECAUSE IT WON’T BE THERE THE NEXT TIME !

I just noticed the water is running from the faucet.LOL

Here is a closer look…I thought maybe if I painted over top of it I’d like it a little better but I DIDN’T, I thought of a label but it would have had to be a big label:)

So I asked Stush if he could turn the door around and this is how it looked when he did it:)

I like it black and please remember that I will be applying walnut stain when the weather EVER gets better around here, it’s snowing here and we are expecting strong winds so right now spring seems so far away. I did buy a bunny though:) at the Country Store yesterday and for only 3.50!

He’s made of muslin with tiny wooden rod legs with homespun tied around his neck.

Here it is on top of the drysink, I don’t have it decorated like I want but it will do for now:) After looking at the photo maybe I’ll do it in a barn red…do you think I should or shouldn’t? LOL

Yikes…that looks tall but I have cathedral ceilings so it really isn’t:) The coverlet and fabric hide the engraving:)

I like it closed too…my candles are lit, sure doesn’t look like it in this pic. I changed the knob to a wood one and I’m having fun with my detail sander, each piece that I do I learn a little more with how to use it.

I found the CS Tour of Homes at our little drugstore downtown and I love it, wasn’t Dan’s home (Yesterday Once More) just wonderful? I love all his collections especially those rolling pins~and also how about Linda’s home (The Keepingroom) it is primperfection!!! Love the twig rings around her lights and her kitchen cabinets… also the tips that they give on decorating which I took advantage of. One said to add a candle to the top of a hutch to make it look even taller…and it does:)

I'I have been living at The Country Store lately.LOL and GW but I just love going into The Country Store…it’s all done for EAster and spring as you walk in and it ALWAYS smells so good in there. It takes me away from this nasty winter here in Pa., at least for an hour I can forget all about the weather here. It doesn’t bother me that there are things there that I can’t afford right now that’s why I love the 50% off room, I’ve wanted one of these candle stands forever and found one in there, looks just right next to my stepback cupboard:)

This is what I’m dreaming of…I think the picture of the blocks says it all!

Boy, I did run on didn’t I? It’s nice though to talk to friends about things that we are both interested in isn’t it?

Good evening prim friends! Well, I finally did it…I painted my dry sink my favorite color black, that’s how bored I have been.lol I like…no love how it turned out and I’m pretty sure my mom would love it too! I painted it right in the diningroom so I didn’t get to take the scalloped edge off but I covered it best I could with my prims, maybe in the spring we will try right now it just to bad out to do it in the garage. I love my detail sander…of course I’m still getting used to it but it sure is alot better sanding then by hand!

My next project to paint is my desk that is barn red and yes, I’m painting it black, I’d also like to find a different chair too.

I have a few pieces of pewter so I decided to see what it looked like on my mantel, I do like the pewter candle holders together and it looks really nice in the evening…I have to get somemore of those battery candles because I just love those too.lol

I tried to get a full view of it for you but it’s a little hard because the mantel is so long:)

Well, that’s about all…I work tomorrow and can’t wait because I just want to get out of the house for a while.

I still haven’t found the lady who sells the calendars…now if I didn’t want one I’d be seeing it all the time.lol

Have you ever seen the salad bowls at GW that look like wood but aren’t? A couple weeks ago I bought them, I always would pass on them because they weren’t wood but this time I figured why not give them a try just to see if they would look okay to paint and distress. Here they are and I even used my new sander on them, I painted one brown but didn’t like it so I painted it black I have two black, one blue and the other barn red.

Below are two of the bowls on my hoosier believe they look just as good as the wood ones and you would never know, I’ll use them until I come across some wood ones again. GW hasn’t been “good” to me the last two times I was there so I’m going to try again this Friday:)

I’ve been tweaking a bit too…in my entryway.

Here’s a closer look, I replaced the Christmas wreath with a berry one that I’ve had forever it seems LOL, it just won’t wear out the berries on it never turn white and are just as good as the day I bought it:) I also have some really nice faux herbs and decided to put some boxwood in the a colonial box I had found at the GW in NC.

Do you ever have to go on a hunt for the prims that you put away at Christmas? That’s what I did for the yarrow that I finally found in the basement.

Well, that’s about it…I’m in such a rut I can’t get motivated about anything crafty, the one day I did feel like making a Valentine penny rug from Char’s tutorial I got called out to work. Tomorrow I’m off from picking the girls up and I sort of hope I don’t get called in to work so I can get something done around here. Stush is going to pick me up two bottles of Rit Tan Dye so that I can use it on the patriotic quilt in the guest room, I also need to do the curtains in there the same as my bedroom ones.

My, it’s been a week since I last posted and I don’t really know why except I got called out to work yesterday right when I was going to start on Char’s Valentine penny rug…so that’s been put on hold because today I wanted to “play house” a little bit;)

I found my labels and so thankful I did because I wanted to put new ones on my jars and I had an idea for another item, I’ll show you that in a little bit. When I used the labels I didn’t use any kind of finish and with Stush cooking alot of water marks got on them, I found some matte spray at Walmart… think I’ll have to wait till the garage door is opened to spray though!

Here’s a pic of them, I don’t use the flour, sugar etc, I like the prim graphics on different ones so I put whatever I like on them!

Here in the corner of my kitchen counter I finally hung the pineapple plaque that I got at GW for .99 I just rubbed the sides with some brown shoe polish for now. I put this light here instead of the ball jar one, you can hardly see it but the bulb is a star one. I also added my pineapple candle hug that I bought from Karenmycolonialhome.blogspot.com/.

I also tweaked my stove board!

Added a blue quilted heart to some berries on top of my clock, next to it is an old lanteren that I got at auction a long time ago. It has small spikes inside to put a candle down on, the sides are made of wire.

Took the ladder from the diningroom and put it in the keepingroom, I like it alot better;) and put my folkart dishes in the corner cabinet.

Redid the top of the table too!

Took fabric off of some crocks and added cheesecloth instead, I saw it on a blog and it looked so neat, I couldn’t do it to the glass one because you would be able to see the print on top. This is on my hoosier BTW.

Finally here is what I did with the other label, I had this wood box and needed something to put my newer prim magazines in so I put it on the lower shelf of my coffee table.

It’s freezing here and we are expecting more snow tomorrow. My snowman flag couldn’t have a better setting for a picture he sure fits in doesn’t he? I’m so glad he loves snow;)

I haven’t had the time to redo my rooms what with working and watching the girls but today in between picking up Samantha I did switch these two prims . I like this one

in the dining room better…here is another pic of it.

I really like my spoon rack here in the keeping room it sort of goes with everything a lot better. For my newer readers… I found this spoon rack for 3.00 at a yard sale, Stush cut off all the fancy scroll work on it and I did the rest. There is a cut out heart underneath the homespun:)

This is also what I’ve been up to, Stush bought me a Detail sander for Christmas and I’m really liking it and learning from it too. I’ve been doing these frames and bowls to just get the feel of the sander and they are coming out great! Hey, there’s my glasses and coffee mug…yes, I’m a messy crafter:)

Hi Friends,
What a cold, rainy day ... I picked Samantha up at preschool and had a sweatshirt on but really should have had a coat too, I was froze, I do not like this type of weather at all, although I do like to wear my boots and jeans. LOL

Well, this is what I've been working on, the little cabinet/cupboard that I bought at a craft show. Yep, I painted it black, distressed it and applied the brown shoe polish, I was going to use the walnut stain but it's to cold for me in the garage and it wouldn't have been dry enough to post today so I went the shoe polish route!
I love it alot better black and looks great in my bedroom with the crocks on top!

Here's another pic of it, the larger crock I won on a forum and the smaller one I had bought at The Country Store.

I even applied the shoe polish to the tin and it sure made a difference, made it look alot more aged then it was.

This is what it looked like before I started...black paint, isn't it wonderful:)

I had redid this find from that consignment shop across from my hairdressers and finally got it hung beside the black shelf above my couch...love it!

I was just sitting here thinking...the shelf cost me $8.00 and the wood pineapple $2.00 ( that I painted) total...$10.00 for both, what an inexpensive prim display!!!

This is what I've been working on...it seemed like it took all day too. LOL I like how it turned out. I painted it this morning and let it dry then distressed it but since it was such a wet, dreary day I didn't want to use the walnut stain so I went to the Dollar General and got some Kiwi brown shoe polish, I think it's neat for small projects like this but not for bigger ones anyway it came out neat and was dry right away it seemed.

I don't know where this is going to end up in my home but I was just glad to get it done! I did paint the white knob, just until I find the same size wooden one to go on there.

I know I'm late for WWW but I had to get some things done around here first before I posted on here. I also started something else but just couldn't get it finished in time.

I'd like to say a prim hi to my new friends who have joined me on my blog, thanks so much for coming along with me I so appreciate it:)

Work is fun and I'll be getting more hours as the holidays approach and more on payday which will help for Christmas:)
