~Just Wanted to Show You~

Well, I'm back from the doctor's, nothing serious just had to have somethings removed from my face.
I wanted to show you what I did with this sweet, little jar from the Dollar Store just now, it was a $1.00 and had a pumpkin candle inside. I used it all up and removed the left over wax, ran it thur the dish washer and it came out just great, I just couldn't get rid of it so I filled it with the star fixens that Mary from Gettysburg Homestead had sent in my winnings, then tied a black, checked strip of homespun around it and put it in my bathroom:) I think it looks great and smells so good! I also wanted to show you the rusty soap dispenser (top part)that J0-Ann from The Carter Clan had sent with the crow/star I had showed in my last post. Thanks goodness I had a jar that was a perfect fit and what a differnce it made in my bathroom...just made it more prim. The glass jars I have in there had silver lids and I of course painted them black:)

Just a couple things that can make a home just a little more prim:)

~Last Boat Ride and Neat Clipboard~

Happy Monday everyone!
I have a doctor"s appt. in about a hour so today will be a little shorter on my post. We had a wonderful weekend... the weather has sure been beautiful here and we all decided to take a boat ride to see the foliage, not to much red, which is my favorite, but we haven't had alot of rain here and they say that's the reason. Everyone brought a covered dish and the food was plenty...of course all the fattening things you could think of were on the menu . :0 This is the Monongahela River, the Monongahela River, Ohio River and the Allegheny River all meet at a point in Pittsburgh. We all had a wonderful time and got home right when it was getting dark, when the sun goes down it gets alot colder especially on the water.

As you can see other boaters were out on the river too!

Saturday in the mail I recieved my clipboard that I had won from Sue at Country Pleasures, who also has a Etsy store. It comes in so handy to keep directions or a pattern in one place. Sue gave a choice between Halloween and fall... as you can see I chose fall and it's so pretty, Sue also sent a sweet card, thanks Sue I just love it.

Well, I better get a move on, have a wonderful Monday!

~Friday Fun~

Hi everyone,
I've been reading blogs and everyone has such neat things that they have done...I know I haven't completed so much in all my days of loving prim things and it's all due to blogging! It's just been wonderful meeting each and everyone of you:)
Yesterday in the mail (this time it could fit in the mailbox) a package from Jo-Ann from The Carter Clan arrived. What a wonderful person she is...I won one of her consolation prizes and this is what it was, I just love it and for now it is hanging on my bathrooom cupboard everytime I look at it I think of Jo-Ann, she has also been so sweet to my son Michael and Corrie and Jo-Ann will always be special to me. Thank you Jo-Ann! Yesterday I finally got around to doing this sugar bucket, I've always wanted to paint it and after seeing a couple ladies blogs where they had did just that I finally took the plunge and painted it. I'm so glad I did because I love how it turned out, I used a can of spray paint called sand then stained it:)
This is how it was before, I've had it forever and got it at a yardsale for $5.00.

I've been busy today went to get nails, toes and eyebrows done, then went to Goodwill, nothing much there but I did find a neat, Thanksgiving tablecloth for $3.00, I've always wanted one but never wanted to spend the money for it. I also stopped at a garage sale, not a good one, but I did buy a nice sunflower wreath for a $1.00.
I hope everyone has a great weekend, here in Pa. we are having a beautiful Indian summer!!!

~This Is So Prim and Two Giveaways~

Look what Mary from Getteysburg Homestead sent when I had won her giveaway:0 I had a little bit of trouble getting it, it was delivered to the wrong house and instead of bringing it up the road she wrote on it "Delivered to wrong house" in black magic marker and set back out on the ground by her mailbox post where it sat in all the rain yesterday! This always happens if Earl isn't on our route, Earl always brings it up the road and leaves packages on the front porch. Thank goodness Mary had everything in a Country plastic bag, as you can see nothing was wet but the box sure was soaked! When I did open the box it was like opening a door to a country store it sure smelled wonderful. The sheep I put by my jug lamp and the blackrasberry soap is in the bathroom:) Thanks Mary I just love everything...Oh, and the towel I have hanging in my entryway. This is a giveaway that you don't want to miss! Tammy from Country Girl at Home and her husband made this table bench and also the blocks plus you get all the cute extras, so stop over and enter...I see she has alot of entries so if your a newbie hurry if you haven't entered yet:)

Raggedy Angel is also having a giveaway in honor of her birthday and her 50th post! This is so Halloween isn't it? I love it, she will be drawing a name on Monday the 13th so hurry on over...she has also included pictures of the prim shop that she has!
We are having beautiful weather here and supposed to have it all next week I guess it's called Indian Summer high in the 70's wonderful weather!

~Whatcha Workin on Wednesday~

Wow, the weeks just are flying by aren't they? Here it is already Wednesday , the "over the hump day" I used to call it when I worked outside the home:) It's raining here in Southwestern PA. but to me still beautiful outside.
Okay, here is what I've been working on...my main bathroom is small, typical in an 80's ranch style home, you know, toilet, vanity and tub! So I've been looking for a small stand or shelves to put extra toilet paper in and have it between the tub and the heat vent, then I spied this at Goodwill and the wheels started turning:)
It was used to a store vegetables, there was actually onion skins in the bottom part:) so for $5.00 I thought if it doesn't work out I'm not out that much and I can always resale it. I took off the vegetables that were wired on... cleaned it out then proceeded to take off stickers that were all over the back of it. Why they had stickers on the back is beyond me.lol

I'm thrilled with how it turned out, fits perfectly and holds that extra toilet paper roll great. I'm looking for something prim to put in the second shelf, on top I have a tea light holder I figured that if it gets knocked off it won't break.

Also put the cat ornie on there!

My daughter and I traded shower curtains, she has my navy one and I took this one until I can get the one I really want!

I also took the drawers out of the cabinet I have above it and redid them, It just bugged me everytime I looked at them that they weren't distressed enough, so I got that done! You can see some of the picture I have of my little ones all together in the bathtub:) Also put some old bottles in the top part makes it look even more prim I think.

This is on my china cabinet, my friend from St. Louis sent me it one year for Christmas and every morning I light the tea lights in it, makes me smile because my computer is in the corner right next to it:) The picture of Sydney is when she was almost two on her first Halloween as Elmo, the other two weren't here yet, I always bring it out for Halloween... hard to believe she is now in first grade.

Here Lauren, at Simple Blessings, is how I've primmed up my china cabinet, over the white dishes that I got at a yard sale for $15.00 I've put some wooden plates, my Rowe pottery plate and even a sampler I've tucked into a corner of it. I sprayed the handles and knobs black, next spring I'm going to paint it black also the light fixture. I haven't told Stush that yet so I'll suggest it to him sometime in March!

I've also worked on the cat and basket that I found last week at Goodwill, here's a picture of them before...

Here she is after I spray painted her black then tied some twine around her neck, I think I saw this on Pam's at BasketsnPrims, sorry blogger won't let me add the link of their blogs to mine for some reason.

Here they are all together in the basket that I painted and distressed and stained, I just love how they have all turned out, I'll keep adding to them, I want to eventually find a bigger basket for them.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful, productive day! Be sure to check out Leslie's at My Country Home for more blogs that do "Whatcha Working Wednesday". All the ladies I've mentioned on listed to the right under my favs, don't you just love blogger sometimes?:)

I finally got it to work so just click on their names and it will take you to their blogs!

~Tuesday's This and That~

Hello blogger friends!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful fall day, it's beautiful here and I've been busy painting and staining some things for tomorrow's Whatcha Working on Wednesday:)
I've taken some pictures for Lauren from Simple Blessings, she wanted some ideas to make her home more prim, I've posted some of these pics before, these are recent ones, but I know Lauren doesn't have the time with a newborn to go way back into someones blog to see pictures, so Lauren I'll be posting some so that you can see right now.lol This is a room right next to the kitchen where I'm taking the picture from, I call it my keepingroom, I think it's the primmest room that I have and it's always so cozy looking especially in the fall and winter. I always turn the light on at dusk...you can also see my cornstalks on the porch out the window there. The black barstools in the front of the picture are at the bar which seperates these rooms. My three girls...I couldn't resist taking a pic of them, this is the first time I've had them all together, that is one thing I've found out you have to move things around from room to room. I would never do that before but it's a great way to get a fresh look with what you already have:)
Here's my desk and the samplers above it all of them I made in the 90's, the larger one at the top on the right is the very first one I ever made, I usually keep the first thing I make because later it shows how far I've come.

This is part of my entryway and to the left is my livingroom and diningroom and to the left is the keepingroom and kitchen.

My entryway again, I'd so like to paint that mirror black.lol It's screwed to the wall so I'll have to get Stush to take it down to do.

I also forgot to show you this craft caddy that I found at Goodwill brandnew! Two day's before I was looking at the two magazines that Trudy had sent me and noticed this in an advertisement for $12.00 and thought it was pretty neat...found it for a $1.00!

Well, I have to take a shower and wash my hair, we go out to dinner tonight:)
Have a great evening and I'll be back tomorrow!
