After that I went to get my nails done and here they weren't open, Closed on Sunday's the sign said, so I'll do that tomorrow:) On my way home I stopped at the Country Store and bought two of these make-do's, one for my daughter, plus all the homespun is $3.00 a yd... loved this black homespun.
I also bought two other prim items but can't show them...one is for a gift and I just sent it out today so I know she doesn't have it yet:) The other is for my Christmas Stocking Swap that Robin is hosting. Yes, I've started to buy for that already because it will be here before you know it.:) Have a great evening everyone!

I love the rolling pin & all the stuff from Joannes. The makedos are great, too. I love those sales Joannes has near the Holidays, out closest one is 30 miles away. I hope to go this week. Looks like you had a really fun day on Sunday.

I love all your finds. Especially the rolling pins. That is one item that I can honestly say I do not have.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric also, I wish we had a place here that I could purchase some really nice homespun from. Whenever we want certain things we always need to go outside and we are talking a few hours of driving. Oh well, I guess I can't spend much money that way...LOL

Hi Rondell, Let me tell you the story of how I learned to make bows. Long story seriously longer. When I was younger I was engaged to a amazing guy. He was on his way to help build orphanage's in South America (not with a church/though he was a strong Christian/he just built amazing buildings) Anyway he wanted me to go to Aspen Colorado with him to meet his friend that he built cabins with up in Aspen. They would then fly to South America and I would fly home. I had put a application in with a floral shop 2 weeks prior to him leaving. I was all packed to go with my fiance' when the phone rang. It was the floral shop wanting me to start the next day. So my fiance' and I talked about it and decided I should stay/not pass up this wonderful opportunity (my dream was to open a floral shop) I could meet his friend later... So off he went to hook up with his friend. The next morning I went to the floral shop and the ONLY job they had me do the WHOLE day was make bows-If the bows were good they would use them-If not I had to do them over (this is why I said, practice, practice, practice) I'm so glad they made me stick to it because later I did open my own floral business(The Robin's Nest) and have made thousands of bows. That call from the floral shop not only helped me to start my own business but it saved my life too. On the second day of the trip my fiance' was hit head on while on his motorcycle by a semi-truck and died. I would have been on that bike with him-There would have been no way anyone could have survived-So by the GRACE of God by a phone call-I'm here to show you how to make bows :) If you have a hard time making them let me know.
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning me on your blog-So Sweet!
Robin~♥
P.S. I'm still working on that Christmas swap deal~ :)
Great price on the rolling pin, Rondell! I never can find them that cheap! It seems like they always want at least $7 or $8! I love that black homespun too! I just have a thing about homespun...I can't hardly pass it up!

ReplyDeleteRondell, I just love your front door decor! How welcoming is that! Thank you for stopping by my blog, I am adding you to my favs list too. Isn't fun to go even if you don't find much? The hunt is the best especially if you have friends or family that love to go as well. Look forward to reading more from you blog~ hugs, Angie
ReplyDeletePrim kitchen items are usually the easiest for me to find. I keep finding more and more kitchen stuff and don't mean to. I want more stuff for the laundry and bathroom but I just come home with more kitchen! LOL Do you have TS's around? I check the kitchen stuff in ours all of the time and occasionally find pieces, usually for under $3. I won't pay anymore!
ReplyDeleteGreat bargains from JoAnn's. I never think to go up there. Now that I'm kidless....hmmmmm.
Have a great day :)
Hi Rondell,
ReplyDeleteNice finds. I have that same little harvest pillow. :) Just picked it up myself. Joanne's has some great stuff and the prices aren't too bad. I attempted to make some sleeves for my candle jars. I will post the pictures this afternoon.
Oh! Thanks for linking Robin's how to own bows. I could really use that tutorial. Have a great day. Prim Blessings,
Siri
Evening Rondell, loved that black cat make do and the other stuff you got, didnt know graters were scarce, one of your friend mentioned she painted one and put it over a candle, what a good idea, I was a the boot fair on Sunday as i wasnt at work, but ended up with a new mitre saw and nothing else.It was a bargain and so were the free range eggs, half what they are in the shops. I could do with more homespun fabric, my stash is getting smaller and smaller. I will need to look on the internet and see if there are any bargains.
ReplyDeleteTake care...x
