Just been doing some little changes today...the weather is beautiful for November 1st, I for one can't believe it's November already:0 As you can see from my pictures the leaves are really falling off fast now. I've been outside today taking Halloween things down and in and leaving the fall things out. Here is my decorative flag, I do have a turkey one that I'll put up maybe tomorrow but I wanted to show you this one first. I kept forgetting to take a picture of it. I took out the flowers that were in my flower boxes sort of sad to see them go but they lasted a long time, filled them in with fake leaves and pinecones from the backyard, there must be a million back there laying on the ground:)
I've always wanted to do this, have flower boxes to decorate for the seasons now I can...also can't wait to do them for Christmas too!
Today, I am thankful for my children and grandaughters living close, Michael the only one who lives away but thankfully he is only four hours away and can be home for the holidays. Also for the beautiful fall weather we have been having:)
we mowed our leaves too. there were sooo may!! the window boxes look great. i need to bring some pinecones inside too. thanks for the idea. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your fall decorating..things look beautiful:) Thank you for your thought & prayers too,,I appreciate it so much! Hope you have great day! <3Lauren
ReplyDeleteOur trees here in the south are still mostly green, although some have turned brown and fallen off. We don't get your pretty colors. We're still running our air conditioners except for one or two nights when it got down in the middle thirties.
ReplyDeleteLove your November header. I've been eagarly anticipating it. It did not disappoint.

Such lovely photos, Rondell. I especially like the one of the chairs in the yard. What a nice place to sit and be quiet!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted flower boxes too. They just make a home look so welcoming, don't they?
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. I using the day to catch up things that have been piling up ... and its almost 4 and I haven't left the kitchen yet. Yikes!
Smiles,
Lea
We raked, mowed and sucked up the leaves and still there are tons left. My whole body aches! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love my window boxes too. Can't wait to put greens in them.
Love your new header.
Rondell i have that same flag, LOL
ReplyDeleteI let my mama use it this year, cause i bought another one. Love your new header, just prim perfect!
I am sitting here just drinking in that wonderful leafy view you posted in! can you tell I'm a little envious?? lol.... Love the window box idea too. I took all my fall stuff dwon today, and outside summer is on its way, so best get that christmas stuff unpacked soon!
ReplyDeleteWe have to mow our leaves too. We'd NEVER get them raked....too many huge oak trees. I like your new header.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted window boxes too Rondell. I love how you decorated them.
ReplyDeleteIt was a beautiful day here too. Suppose to be in the 70's for the rest of the week. Yea!
Ken does the same thing with our leaves, but after he mows them they go into the compost bin.
I've been gathering pinecones too. I left them lay out in the sun until all the sticky stuff dried on them. I almost never got that off of my hands. hahaha!

I always wanted flower boxes but can't have them on this house because my house is made of foam on the outside and there are not to many 2x4's to attach the boxes to. So instead I will wait till our next home. Love how you have yours all decked out :) Your pine cones are huge!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great weekend so far :)
Sandy
Pretty pictures of autumn. My son racked some leaves today...but it was a bit windy.

Hi Rondell, What a wonderful idea. I don't have window boxes but I thought I would do the same with my planters. Have a great weekend. Prim Blessings, Siri
ReplyDeleteRondell, your decorating is beautiful....ours has been out for awhile now - in between the Halloween stuff which came down yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing - great photos.
Karen
Your window boxes look great! I don't have one anymore so I guess I can't steal your idea, but I did try to fill pots that I had on the porch last year with things like that. I used to just take everything down in the winter and I didn't feel like doing that last year so I decorated what I had. One thing I did was cut up the pine garland and fill pots and what not and then toss a few pine cones in and even some plastic candy canes :) It looked a whole lot nicer than a barren porch!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little late responding to my comments from this week...I have a hard time keeping up with them somedays! Anyway, my Mom works for Kay's Jewelers. She's worked for several jewelry stores in the last 15 years. She's really good at it. Last year she won a contest because she was the top seller in the district for the year and Mom said their district even includes parts of NYC. State College is just a small area compared to that and she still won :D
Have a great rest of your weekend!
Leslie
Your window boxes are really cute. I love that little basket of kitty cats next to the crock! I do like that new pic in your header, very nice! Have a lovely weekend! ~Beth~
ReplyDeleteHi Rondell,
ReplyDeleteI love your window boxes. Our yard has lots of trees, so we mow our leaves also...and I just put some pinecones in a basket on the hearth by the fireplace. Great minds must think alike! LOL...
Cindy

ReplyDeleteSandy
Gotta love fall! Dave got out the mower this weekend and got most of the leaves. Our lawn looks nice...for now. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the window boxes and I have always loved decorating with pinecones! lol Everything looks great and I love seeing the leaves myself but Bill loves to run out and fun the lawnmower with the bagger over them...he likes his yard clean! lol Have a great week girl!
ReplyDeleteHello Rondell!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great day today! I just ran across your blog and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it. I really like the way you did the window boxes. I tried doing them 2 years ago and I think they weighed too much becasue they started pulling away from the building!Looking at yours makes we want try it again.
Country Blessings,
Beth

Looks great Rondell! In fact, I love the fall leaves & pinecones better than flowers. But I know I'm weird! I just love the simplicity and natural look of them. And your window boxes are awesome!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a gerat week!
Hi Rondell,
ReplyDeleteI just loved the pictures of the fall decorations. I would be thankful to have a riding lawnmower if I had to rake all of those leaves!
We are enjoying some mild weather here as well. Tomorrow is supposed to go up to 18 celcius..not sure what that is in F, but its pretty darn warm.
Just wanted to say Hi, and I hope to be back stitching soon, I really want to send you your valences before your Thanksgiving:)
Wooly hugs,
Trudy
