~A Beautiful Sunny Spring Day~

Such a pretty day today and we are supposed to have this wonderful weather clear on into Easter Sunday evening when we will get some spring showers but that’s okay:)

Below is a picture of my egg tree, I’ve always wanted to do this but never had a small one to do it to, it’s one of those small red maple leaf trees and you can see the buds just coming out on it. The granddaughter’s haven’t seen it yet so I can’t wait for the Easter egg hunt we have on Sunday .

100_2643

I’ve been trying to stay busy today, trying to keep my mind off of the colonoscopy test that I’ll be having at 8:15 AM tomorrow! Oh how I hate the thought of it and the stuff you have to drink but I’ll be 59 next Wednesday and I know I should have the test since mom had colon cancer in her much later years. Better to be safe than sorry right?

Here is a cute bunny I found at GW for .99, he is a cutie I just love his face. The homespun carrots I bought at The Country Store to go with him:)

100_2634

Put my homespun books in the wooden holder with some flowers in my entry way.

100_2641 ?Remember this little make-do chair? I’ve had it all over the keepingroom, livingroom and now it is sitting on the floor by my dry sink and yes, I put a rag doll in it for now at least!

100_2647

I found this penny rug tray at Barbara’s Country Store when I went shopping with Chris, I always loved it when I saw it as a giveaway on someone’s blog, it’s been a while and can’t remember whose blog it was:) Tried to win it but….

100_2640

I’m off today and tomorrow hopefully I can do more tweaking in the afternoon, I’ll just be glad when it’s all over.LOL

I hope everyone is having a great Spring day wherever you are:)

~GW Finds…I know you have seen one but…

Sorry I haven’t been around but I’ve been working alot more than usual and still watching the “girls” as well and well, I’ve just been so tired lately. I’ve still been checking in though reading your blogs and just drooling at all that you have been doing and making, I just don’t have the time right now to be creative or if I do have a day off I want to be outside if it’s warm. Stush and his brother Johnny have been busy cutting up all the trees around here, the biggest one was the one in the back, a 20 ft. pine tree that fell bringing up roots and all.LOL So much fire wood for next winter which I don’t want to even think about right now:D

So yesterday I dropped Samantha off at preschool, she was Munchie Monster and that’s always a good thing in the preschool world, and went to GW. Now I know you have seen these pantry boxes before and I found it in a buggy ( always look in the full buggy’s that they have out waiting to be put on the shelves) for $1.99…

~

100_2609

When I turned it over I found this, it’s a kleenex box, I have never even heard of one made into a kleenex box have you? I was sort of disappointed but I figured I could either put it up high so you wouldn’t see it or cover the top somehow. There is a tiny label on the bottom but it’s all worn off so I can’t tell who made it, it’s very well made and seems to have been made this way right from the beginning.

100_2616

I think my favorite find was a set of these rusty, brown candle holders for $1.99 each, of course I stopped at The Country Store to buy the battery candles to put in them as soon as I got home, they had new ones in they are brown and really grungey with the drippings all around the top part really like them! This one I put right beside my hoosier…

100_2612

this one in the livingroom right beside my shelf above the couch, after looking at it maybe I’ll put one on each side of the shelf, who knows where they will end up:D

I always run into a friend of mine at Gw she is my sister’s age and we always stop and talk, she is by no means country and asked me what primitive was so yesterday she was there and told me that she wanted to show me something ( out of one of the buggies) she picked up one of these candleholders and said “Is this primitive?'” 100_2615

I’m like “Yes”, so it looks like I have someone to look for prims for me at GW ladies:) What I didn’t get to tell her was I found the other one laying on a shelf after walking around.LOL

I also found this oval, wooden hoop, JoAnn’s doesn’t sell the wooden hoops just plastic ones so I grabbed it for .99, I like the wooden hoops better then the plastic ones to work with…if I ever get to work on anything!!!

Well, that’s about all ladies and gents, sorry not much to tell but I didn’t want to stay away to long:0100_2611

Today we go to Chuckie Cheese for Alex’s 6th birthday party than on to her house for the adults a busy day today as usual.

I’m sure by now you have heard about the new magazine that will be available in August by APP I can’t wait, the photos are going to be fantastic with Margo from Circa 1892 Homestead taking the pictures! So we are going from not having alot of prim magazines available to at least three now and that’s always a good thing:)

I sure hope to be back sooner than a week next time, I hope you are all having a great weekend and warmer weather where ever you are:) Love you guys!!!

“Happy Spring Blogging Friends”

It’s beautiful here in Pa. and I’m so enjoying it, makes you just want to clean everything doesn’t it? Right now Stush is working outside with the chain saw getting all the trees that fell during the snowstorm, yesterday I picked up the smaller branches and twigs and put them in the truck, I was in bed early last night let me tell you:)

So today I thought I’d show you what I do have out for spring and Easter, not alot…

Kitchen

This is the only thing I’ve did in the kitchen, maybe I’ll add more to the room I don’t know yet!

100_2559

Keepingroom

I really don’t like to take pics in the daytime, I like them better at night but had to today because in a little bit I’m going with Michele and the girls to look for a communion dress for Sydney, her communion day is in May!

100_2552

I added the two spring birds and you can see behind it the wood letters that spell Easter all done in prim colors…that’s why I bought it:)

100_2553

The rabbit that I painted last year placed between two homespun pillows in a basket:)

100_2556

Diningroom

This is on my diningroom table…love the blue, prim eggs, grass and grungy cheese cloth:)

100_2557

I made this bunny angel in the 90’s and always liked her, first time I had ever stiffend fabric before…her wings are from an old quilt:)

100_2547

80This is in my cupboard on top of my drysink I’m still trying to decide if I should paint the cupboard barn red or not:)

100_2548

Livingroom

This is on my mantel…the rabbit I bought from Rhonda Melton and the pewter plates I got from Char, love it all!

100_2549

A prim sampler that I made up as I stitched that’s sitting in my stepback:)

100_2550

Entryway

Love the blocks I bought from Kindra, I couldn’t wait to get them out!

100_2551

Guestroom

Love this sampler that I did last year…it’s a free pattern from Betty:)

100_2555

Sitting here I can see about two displays that I missed so I’ll take pictures and post them next time.

I hope your all having a wonderful day where ever you are, Sunday is supposed to be colder here but I’m enjoying what we have today.

~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

Good evening prim friends! Well, I finally did it…I painted my dry sink my favorite color black, that’s how bored I have been.lol I like…no love how it turned out and I’m pretty sure my mom would love it too! I painted it right in the diningroom so I didn’t get to take the scalloped edge off but I covered it best I could with my prims, maybe in the spring we will try right now it just to bad out to do it in the garage. I love my detail sander…of course I’m still getting used to it but it sure is alot better sanding then by hand!

100_2424 ~

Here’s what I have on top and with this weather we are STILL having I brought out my spring flowers:)

100_2416 and here is the bottom!

100_2414

My next project to paint is my desk that is barn red and yes, I’m painting it black, I’d also like to find a different chair too.

100_2419

I have a few pieces of pewter so I decided to see what it looked like on my mantel, I do like the pewter candle holders together and it looks really nice in the evening…I have to get somemore of those battery candles because I just love those too.lol

100_2418

I tried to get a full view of it for you but it’s a little hard because the mantel is so long:)

100_2426

Well, that’s about all…I work tomorrow and can’t wait because I just want to get out of the house for a while.

I still haven’t found the lady who sells the calendars…now if I didn’t want one I’d be seeing it all the time.lol

Have a safe and warm, cozy evening wherever you are♥

~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

Have you ever seen the salad bowls at GW that look like wood but aren’t? A couple weeks ago I bought them, I always would pass on them because they weren’t wood but this time I figured why not give them a try just to see if they would look okay to paint and distress. Here they are and I even used my new sander on them, I painted one brown but didn’t like it so I painted it black I have two black, one blue and the other barn red.

100_2354

Below are two of the bowls on my hoosier believe they look just as good as the wood ones and you would never know, I’ll use them until I come across some wood ones again. GW hasn’t been “good” to me the last two times I was there so I’m going to try again this Friday:)

100_2355

I’ve been tweaking a bit too…in my entryway.

100_2358

Here’s a closer look, I replaced the Christmas wreath with a berry one that I’ve had forever it seems LOL, it just won’t wear out the berries on it never turn white and are just as good as the day I bought it:) I also have some really nice faux herbs and decided to put some boxwood in the a colonial box I had found at the GW in NC.

100_2357

Do you ever have to go on a hunt for the prims that you put away at Christmas? That’s what I did for the yarrow that I finally found in the basement.

100_2356d

Well, that’s about it…I’m in such a rut I can’t get motivated about anything crafty, the one day I did feel like making a Valentine penny rug from Char’s tutorial I got called out to work. Tomorrow I’m off from picking the girls up and I sort of hope I don’t get called in to work so I can get something done around here. Stush is going to pick me up two bottles of Rit Tan Dye so that I can use it on the patriotic quilt in the guest room, I also need to do the curtains in there the same as my bedroom ones.

If you want to see who else is doing WWW stop over at Leslie’s My Country Home!

I hope you are all cozy and warm wherever you are:)

~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

My, it’s been a week since I last posted and I don’t really know why except I got called out to work yesterday right when I was going to start on Char’s Valentine penny rug…so that’s been put on hold because today I wanted to “play house” a little bit;)

I found my labels and so thankful I did because I wanted to put new ones on my jars and I had an idea for another item, I’ll show you that in a little bit. When I used the labels I didn’t use any kind of finish and with Stush cooking alot of water marks got on them, I found some matte spray at Walmart… think I’ll have to wait till the garage door is opened to spray though!

Here’s a pic of them, I don’t use the flour, sugar etc, I like the prim graphics on different ones so I put whatever I like on them!

100_2302

Here in the corner of my kitchen counter I finally hung the pineapple plaque that I got at GW for .99 I just rubbed the sides with some brown shoe polish for now. I put this light here instead of the ball jar one, you can hardly see it but the bulb is a star one. I also added my pineapple candle hug that I bought from Karenmycolonialhome.blogspot.com/.

100_2301

I also tweaked my stove board!

100_2304

Added a blue quilted heart to some berries on top of my clock, next to it is an old lanteren that I got at auction a long time ago. It has small spikes inside to put a candle down on, the sides are made of wire.

100_2310

Took the ladder from the diningroom and put it in the keepingroom, I like it alot better;) and put my folkart dishes in the corner cabinet.

100_2315

Redid the top of the table too!

100_2324

Took fabric off of some crocks and added cheesecloth instead, I saw it on a blog and it looked so neat, I couldn’t 100_2334do it to the glass one because you would be able to see the print on top. This is on my hoosier BTW.

Here is the middle part…

100_2327

100_2329

Here is proof that I do stitch. lol

Finally here is what I did with the other label, I had this wood box and needed something to put my newer prim magazines in so I put it on the lower shelf of my coffee table.

100_2311

100_2312My labels are all from Liberty Lane Primitives BTW:) Check her blog out!

Check out Leslie’s My Country Home to see more WWW;)

~Tweaking Again, Pinkalicious & 1st Hockey Game~

Hi blogging friends!
I hope your Monday is being a good one, mine is, I'm off from everything soooo I'm doing laundry...all the bedding and blankets because it's quite chilly here in Western Pa. we had a frost warning last night but when I got up this morning I didn't see any...it will be here soon enough though! I see that Denver Colorado got some snow, Michael will be going there to visit friends and to go to the Steeler game so I hope it's nicer weather there that weekend.

I wanted to show you the top of my fridge, I know you have seen it before but not with this fabric that Lisa from Blacksheep Prims sent me, I had admired it and so she surprised me with two and said she was leaving it up to me to stitch the date on like hers or not...so I did and I love it! It looks so primitive there, thanks again Lisa:) This is in my entryway, I love white pumpkins!
I also bought another battery candle light, I just love them, I buy one everytime I go to The Country Store and I hope to get enough to help with the Christmas decorating around here. So far I have four!

Sunday I went with Michele and the girls to see a play called Pinkalicious Sydney and Samantha never moved the whole show they were so interested in it, they have the book and Michele says it's about worn out and that she knows it off by heart! A cute play!

You can see how crowded it was with mom's, little girls and Grammy's:)

Now last Wednesday I went to my first Penguin hockey game and I so loved it! My daughter, hubby and Sydney went plus Uncle Chris, Stush and I.
It was also Sydney's first time there too, she was so excited as you can tell by the pics!

This picture is right before it started and I love the music they play for the opening of the game!

Here she has the tickets!

Grammy and Sydney!

We caught the mascot as he was going to the elevator and he stopped to take a picture with Syd. Of course we didn't want that man in there but what are you going to do,LOL

Well, I'll be back for WWW... tomorrow I work then not again till Saturday, I'll be working more starting the beginning of November, hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next month. Yikes!!!
