~The Country Store and GW~

Hello everyone...I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday! I'm going rollerskating this afternoon so I thought I'd get this post on here before I have to get ready:)
Yesterday Stush got a call to drive cars for a auto auction, he usually does this on Fridays so I thought I'd head out to The Country Store and Goodwill. I pulled in and happened to have my camara with me so I took a pic of the store for you. Now when I mention it again you will have an idea of where I go:) Beautiful things inside but I love the very back room because that room holds all of the 50% off items!!! Here is what I found to bring home with me...loved the date on it, it feels like it's made out of wood but I know it isn't. I figured I could use it to put spring flowers in soon, real soon I hope:) I think I paid about $7.00 for it.
Loved this spring wreath...I actually think it is a large candle ring but I'm using it for my front door, it's so pretty and so was the price, $4.00!

I've always wanted one of these...a grunged up candle that you can put in any holder that you have and put it where you want...it uses a battery, there were only a three left so I thought I better grab one. Last night I put it on my mantle and it looked great there:) I always have a wonderful, prim time there just looking around, it's nothing like the Rusty Angel but then again the Rusty Angel doesn't have a 50% off room.lol

**************************************************************
I have been working on this for the last two days and finally finished it, I stuffed it with rags and added a black, checked homespun back to it.

*********************************************************************

I stopped at Goodwill but that place had nothing and to me it's getting expensive, I found some wool blazers that I could have bought but they wanted $4.99 a piece for them...just to much for me.
I did find this basket for $1.99 which again I thought was to much but I liked it and I know if I didn't get it someone would have bought it, not flimsey at all and I like the high handle on it:)

Here is a closer pic of it!

I had found this little wood candleholder a week or so ago and put it back on the shelf...it was still there so for .49 I figured I'd get it and prim it up somehow:0

Well that's all for now guys...the sun is out but it's cold out today, we did have two days of temps in the 50's and I so enjoyed going out with just a light weight jacket on yesterday:)
Have a great day!

♥ Whatcha Working on Wednesday ♥

I know I'm a little late but I've been putzing around here all day...it is so cold but not as cold as in North Dakota which they said was -40* whew...I don't think I could take that.lol

Anyway here is may candle mat all finished, I used no. 8 ecru cotton thread, the first time I used two different colors of thread on one project:) I used my antique trunk that I have beside my couch as a backdrop for it. "Practice makes perfect"... is what I keep saying to myself as I do these penny projects:0 These two I just cut out , the one on the right is a cat with a heart on it and the other is a heart... I don't know what I'll do with them when I finish but again it will give me practice.
I'm thinking spring as many of us are, so I decided to stitch, I haven't done it for a while since way before Christmas because I worked... then the holidays came. It felt good to pick up the needle and the DMC! I got this far then ran out of the barn red thread, I thought I had more but I didn't so I'll have to pick some up maybe tomorrow but it's supposed to be even colder than today!!! he's a bunny and I think I'll stitch the words Happy Easter or I may change it.

This picture is for Sue...I told her I would take a picture of the shelf Stush made me because she lost her catalog...so here it is Sue:) I hope this helps:)

Here is more pictures of my purchases at the Country Store. I got this Gooseberry Patch cookbook for $7.00 it was the last one left and I always wanted one but would never pay the full price because I'm not that great of cook. I like to look at the recipes and pictures of cookbooks but that's as far as it goes:) Maybe someday;)

Two more things here...I've always seen this jug in Country Sampler and always admired it, yep only one left and I got it for &12.00! The cutery tray, I think that's what they call them, is so cute it's only about 7 inches wide if anything and paid $5.00, there was a blue one but the lady already had it in her hand so I couldn't do anything about that.lOL

More cold expected for tomorrow and they said more snow, we got about 2 inches and at one point it was really coming down...then it stopped, I just wanted it to keep on coming down:)
Have a wonderful, warm evening everyone and thanks for stopping by, I always enjoy you!

Gee, I almost forgot...stop by Leslie's to see all the wonderful doings that some great bloggers are up to:)

♥ New Beginnings ♥

This is what we got again this morning but would you believe it's all gone? Crazy weather!!! We had a wonderful New Year's eve with friends that we have gone to school with and didn't get home until 3AM so needlesss to say I was really tired yesterday...even took a couple hours nap! I knew I wouldn't be going to bed at the regular time so I stayed up and decided to try and make a penny candle mat:) Michael and Corrie gave me a Yankee Candle "Macintosh" for Christmas, my favorite, and I wanted something to put it on. I have some pennies done and some I have to finish, also sew them on, I think it is turning out pretty good by just making it up myself:) I don't do resolutions but I do plan on bettering myself for 09 such as learning more about the penny rugs and how to make up my own patterns. The pennies are from the wool blazer I got at Goodwill and speaking of Goodwill......
Look what else Michael and Corrie gave me...a gift cerficate to Goodwill! Am I going to have fun with that or what.LOL Love to find more wool and some more of my dishes wouldn't that be great? I can dream can't I? LOL

Sydney and Samantha gave Grammy and gift certificate to The Country Store...they know me so well.♥

Stush also gave me an Ebay card and today my hanging bowls came, I was all excited opening the box and they are from Olde Farm Creek here is their website http://www.oldefarmcreek.com/store/Default.asp she seems to be really nice and answered me right away when I had a question:) I just love them, I bought them to hang on my shelf so we will see how that works out.

Well, I have to get ready, I'm taking Stush out to dinner, I got paid today and want to do something nice for him.
Have a great evening and I hope everyone is having a wonderful beginning of this great new year♥
