~I’m Ready For Spring~

So much so that I grabbed this off of the shelf at GW.LOL It has the faux water in it and the flowers are clean so I thought what the heck, at least they won’t die on me and for 2.99 I couldn’t leave without it:)

100_2432

The sofa table they are sitting on is one I’m painting for Michele, as you can see I’m not done with it, I brought it into the keeping room but I can’t stain it until we can keep the garage door open. I told her to turn it around when she puts it in her entryway to hide the 90’s scalloped edge.

100_2433

Below is a lamp I found at GW too, not the shade…I already had that, it seems brand new and I think I paid 3.99 for it. I was looking for a lamp for the guest room, just didn’t like the ball jar lamp anymore.

Those are my sweeties in the pictures, I don’t show them anymore on my blog, I looked up a site and found out that it would be to dangerous to do so, sad huh? I also remember a lady on a forum making a comment that her husband was a cop and she said he just shivers when he sees kids posted….so that was enough for me! Enough of that but I just wanted you to know why I haven’t had them on here:)

100_2439

Here is the guest bedroom so far, I took alot of prims out such as on the peg rack…I’m looking for a night stand but so far I haven’t found THE one yet, I can’t wait for yardsales to start up around here:)100_2440

I finally found a prim calendar from Gatherings for the Home and they are called Pure and Simple Calendars…thanks Cherry, I love it and just hanging it there made the room even more prim:)

100_2447

Don’t you just love it? Every month the pictures just get better and better, you should see the Oct., Nov., and Christmas:)

100_2448

Well, I have to stop here…Stush came home and I have to get ready to go out to dinner, I love Fridays!

Have a great evening with family or friends where ever you are, hey, the sun was out all day today and really not quite as cold as it has been:)

~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

Have you ever seen the salad bowls at GW that look like wood but aren’t? A couple weeks ago I bought them, I always would pass on them because they weren’t wood but this time I figured why not give them a try just to see if they would look okay to paint and distress. Here they are and I even used my new sander on them, I painted one brown but didn’t like it so I painted it black I have two black, one blue and the other barn red.

100_2354

Below are two of the bowls on my hoosier believe they look just as good as the wood ones and you would never know, I’ll use them until I come across some wood ones again. GW hasn’t been “good” to me the last two times I was there so I’m going to try again this Friday:)

100_2355

I’ve been tweaking a bit too…in my entryway.

100_2358

Here’s a closer look, I replaced the Christmas wreath with a berry one that I’ve had forever it seems LOL, it just won’t wear out the berries on it never turn white and are just as good as the day I bought it:) I also have some really nice faux herbs and decided to put some boxwood in the a colonial box I had found at the GW in NC.

100_2357

Do you ever have to go on a hunt for the prims that you put away at Christmas? That’s what I did for the yarrow that I finally found in the basement.

100_2356d

Well, that’s about it…I’m in such a rut I can’t get motivated about anything crafty, the one day I did feel like making a Valentine penny rug from Char’s tutorial I got called out to work. Tomorrow I’m off from picking the girls up and I sort of hope I don’t get called in to work so I can get something done around here. Stush is going to pick me up two bottles of Rit Tan Dye so that I can use it on the patriotic quilt in the guest room, I also need to do the curtains in there the same as my bedroom ones.

If you want to see who else is doing WWW stop over at Leslie’s My Country Home!

I hope you are all cozy and warm wherever you are:)

~GW and a Couple of ???~

Hi blog buds, November already as you can see looking out my kitchen window the leaves are almost gone. Our yard was full of them but Stush got out the riding mower and mulched them all up.

I did got to GW yesterday after I took Samantha to preschool and I just found two things, I was excited and amazed that this Apple Cider sign was still there and I got it for $2.99, didn't have to do a thing to it either! I also saw this remote control holder for .79 and I'm going to paint it and distress in black. I'll at least won't have to hunt for them in the morning because I'll make sure they are in there before I go to bed. I've been hunting for one so I guess I made out at GW after not being there for a few weeks.
This is as close as your going to get to see this faux red ware plate...I must have painted over the mustard markings at least 7 times, I just could not make it look right, finally I gave up and I'm using it this way, I just hide the bottom squiggly. I love the look of it with my other prims but I'm not satisfied with it at all.

Here is another thing I'm definitely not satisfied with...I bought this prim stand at The Country Store Sunday, it's black and tan with stenciled stars on it. I was torn between this and a slimmer barn red shelf it looked more colonial then this one, I chose this one though because I thought it would look good here but to me it doesn't. It just doesn't make my heart sing if you know what I mean...should I call the store and ask if I can return it to get the other one? I know them and they know me and I'm a good customer, every time I look at it or pass thur my Keeping Room it doesn't make me feel good.LOL

Here is another question...is Live Writer worth using? Is it harder to use? Please leave me a comment if you are using it okay? I know I like the font that I see on some blogs, that has really caught my eye:)
I had one comment about two posts ago asking if I lived near a lake...no we live near the Monongahela River, Stush and I have always lived near the river so it is just so much apart of us all the time. We cross bridges all the time too... to get to work, to shop! I'll have to stop and take a picture of a part of the river called Horseshoe Bend for you to see! Oh, I almost forgot to add that Janene from Primitive Lifestyle is having a sale on some GW things, stop over... there might just be something you want!!!
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Update: I called and they are closed today, so I'll call tomorrow and see, thanks so much for the great advice!

~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

Hi Friends,
What a cold, rainy day ... I picked Samantha up at preschool and had a sweatshirt on but really should have had a coat too, I was froze, I do not like this type of weather at all, although I do like to wear my boots and jeans. LOL

Well, this is what I've been working on, the little cabinet/cupboard that I bought at a craft show. Yep, I painted it black, distressed it and applied the brown shoe polish, I was going to use the walnut stain but it's to cold for me in the garage and it wouldn't have been dry enough to post today so I went the shoe polish route!
I love it alot better black and looks great in my bedroom with the crocks on top!

Here's another pic of it, the larger crock I won on a forum and the smaller one I had bought at The Country Store.
I even applied the shoe polish to the tin and it sure made a difference, made it look alot more aged then it was.

This is what it looked like before I started...black paint, isn't it wonderful:)

I had redid this find from that consignment shop across from my hairdressers and finally got it hung beside the black shelf above my couch...love it!

I was just sitting here thinking...the shelf cost me $8.00 and the wood pineapple $2.00 ( that I painted) total...$10.00 for both, what an inexpensive prim display!!!
Leslie from My Country Home hosts WWW so stop on over to see what other prim lovers are doing!

~Tweaking Again, Pinkalicious & 1st Hockey Game~

Hi blogging friends!
I hope your Monday is being a good one, mine is, I'm off from everything soooo I'm doing laundry...all the bedding and blankets because it's quite chilly here in Western Pa. we had a frost warning last night but when I got up this morning I didn't see any...it will be here soon enough though! I see that Denver Colorado got some snow, Michael will be going there to visit friends and to go to the Steeler game so I hope it's nicer weather there that weekend.

I wanted to show you the top of my fridge, I know you have seen it before but not with this fabric that Lisa from Blacksheep Prims sent me, I had admired it and so she surprised me with two and said she was leaving it up to me to stitch the date on like hers or not...so I did and I love it! It looks so primitive there, thanks again Lisa:) This is in my entryway, I love white pumpkins!
I also bought another battery candle light, I just love them, I buy one everytime I go to The Country Store and I hope to get enough to help with the Christmas decorating around here. So far I have four!

Sunday I went with Michele and the girls to see a play called Pinkalicious Sydney and Samantha never moved the whole show they were so interested in it, they have the book and Michele says it's about worn out and that she knows it off by heart! A cute play!

You can see how crowded it was with mom's, little girls and Grammy's:)

Now last Wednesday I went to my first Penguin hockey game and I so loved it! My daughter, hubby and Sydney went plus Uncle Chris, Stush and I.
It was also Sydney's first time there too, she was so excited as you can tell by the pics!

This picture is right before it started and I love the music they play for the opening of the game!

Here she has the tickets!

Grammy and Sydney!

We caught the mascot as he was going to the elevator and he stopped to take a picture with Syd. Of course we didn't want that man in there but what are you going to do,LOL

Well, I'll be back for WWW... tomorrow I work then not again till Saturday, I'll be working more starting the beginning of November, hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next month. Yikes!!!

~40th Class Reunion and Some Tweaking~

Hi everyone,
I've been gone I know just didn't feel good, then Wednesday came down with a sore throat...just run down I guess, I wasn't sick just no energy. I feel better today thank goodness !

Last Saturday I went to my 40th class reunion, yes, 1969 was a longggggggg time ago.LOL But I had so much fun and got to see classmates that I haven't seen in years, literally 40 years! This is the girl that I ran around with since 7th grade on, she lives in New Jersey and boy, it was so nice to finally see her again and everyone else. Wish we had had more time to talk:) Maybe in five years when we will be having our next and having it for two days that year:) That morning Michele and I tried another craft show we only had Samantha with us so we got to look but as far as craft show go it was terrible but I did manage to buy this cabinet for $15.00, it's actually lighter then what the picture shows. I'm painting it black of course.LOL
Here is a closer look I'm going to put a hanger on the back and hang it on the wall in the bedroom or bath, I think the black will look good on it!

Remember when I bought this picture with the Declaration of Independence from The Country Store? well, I hung it here above my PC and moved the flag one under the bowl rack, like it better:)

This is my entryway wall and those branches are old bittersweet, I hate to throw it away so I stuck it up there on my peg board:)

Got my paycheck today and of course The Country Store is on my way... so I stopped and only had about 15 minutes to look because I had to pick up Sam at preschool. I found this garland of bittersweet she had it laying on a table but I thought right away about my mantel and how it would lighten it up more. Love it and I'll have it for some years to come!

Here is another pic sorry it's blurry... I don't realize it until I post them but I think you get the idea:)

I'll be back, I have more pics to share, TGIF hey? I have Monday off from everything, LOL with nothing planned, Michele is off work so no kids to pick up or get on the bus and I can also sleep later. I work tomorrow 9 to 2:30 then nothing planned there either, I need a weekend of doing nothing:)

~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

Not much ladies, wish I was but just haven't had the time lately...right now I'm washing Chris' clothes and Monday I did ours:) So I spend my off days cleaning and laundry and watching grandkids and feeling like I'm a taxi cab driver.LOL I've did all this before but here I am again but much older doing it, I took Chris to this same pre-school!!!

I have found time to decorate for fall today, the days here in western Pa have been so nice but I know it's coming to an end and that is WINTER is coming...yuck!!! Anyway, I added a cinammon stick scarecrow that I've had for years to this shelf in my keeping room! I bought this cute scarecrow in Giant Eagle of all places...his blue overalls caught my eye:) On his head is faux bittersweet I thought it was real until I looked really close, wish I knew where that came from:) This is in my keeping room also!
I got a few things out in my entryway too, a faux pumpkin that I stained last year, ears of Indian corn and leaves I put on this little bench!

This is by my chair in the entryway, love the simplicity of it, the leaves are in a saltglazed jar that I bought years ago for $3.00 (early 80's) actually I got two that day and I've always loved them!

A short post I know but I'll try to have more things that I'm working on next week, it's just been crazy around here as I'm sure it has been at your house,LOL. Who ever owns the Dollar Tree is sure making a killing I worked yesterday and neve stopped ringing, just one after another!
Stop by Leslie's to see what everyone else is doing:)
Have a wonderful fall day!

~I Just Couldn't Wait~

to show you what I didn't have for WWW this week, like I said the stain was just to sticky to move it from the garage to my dining room.
I bought this from Michael's, with a 50% off coupon, in the beginning of July and just now had time to do it. Stush covered what needed to be covered then I spray painted it black but it was coming out gray looking and I didn't like that! So I painted it black then distressed it where it would have got some wear on it. I put it in the corner of my dining room, I had my sewing machine cabinet there but it was just to big looking and taking up to much room. Now there is such a difference makes the room look bigger!
This stitchery I made a long time ago so I don't have the designer's name, if you know please tell me and I'll give credit:) I haven't used this sampler for years, I just couldn't find it and I knew I hadn't sold it, so where did I find it? Behind another sampler lol, I must have needed the frame for a Christmas one and just covered it up with homespun and the sampler. I don't know what made me look but there it was, the rust colored homespun is from the Ragg Shop, remember those ? That went out a long time ago:)

Here's what I have on top of it, my sewing things are on the inside, neat place to keep everything for stitcheries!

Here is another veiw...

I really like the lamp lit in fact I have it on now but for the picture I had to turn it off because of the glare. I hung the patriotic picture... finally, it just took me a while to find a place for it!

Today I went to the Dollar Tree and ran the register for about an hour and a half, it was easy because I remembered somethings from when I worked there for Christmas. I work Monday and Tuesday 2 to 7 then not until next week do I get more hours but that will soon change with the holidays coming on so very fast it seems!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend, it's cooler here in fact we have the AC off so it won't be long till we have to start up the woodstove:)
