~I Won a Giveaway and My Oldest Son~

Hello there…I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend, it was just beautiful weather here and spent alot of time outside. Sydney and Samantha had such a good time hunting for eggs in the front yard and then they were awarded with a plastic baseball and bat:) So we did alot of pitching and chasing balls, Buster had to be tied up because he would chase the balls and wouldn’t give them back…only to Stush and me. It was also, disappointing and for me heartbreaking, because Alex was sick, some kind of virus and she didn’t even make it to church or Nick said she didn’t even care what the Easter bunny had left. Hopefully next year is different!

Now for the giveaway I won Cynthia at Cynthia Lee Designs. Look at this sweet towel she made me…I just love it, Cindy you are so talented!!! I hung it here in my keepingroom for now:)100_2659

Here is a close up that I took just so you could see it better♥

I also won this Judy Condon book “A Simpler Time” and I love it…I have two now the other one I have is “Of Heart and Home” I so enjoyed sitting down that night and looking at the beautiful pictures I love that blue cupboard♥ on the cover, thanks so much Cindy I love it also. The prim magnet she sent me too is on my frig:)

I also can’t let today go by without wishing my oldest son Happy Birthday, here he is at about 17 or 18? LOL Yesterday was his birthday yes, 38 years old, I tried to hold off till my birthday on the 7th but Nick didn’t want to wait I guess he wanted his own birthday date. A wonderful son, husband and father… teaches math and is head coach of the football team at his school, I don’t think they make them any better than him:) Love you!

I did manage to make these homespun eggs before leaving for work on Friday, the first one in the front of the photo (black & beige) was the only one that turned out to my liking and I think it was because of the texture of the fabric. I bought the large plastic eggs at the Dollar Tree and just cut strips of fabric, wrapped them around the eggs and covered them with mod podge and let them dry. Next year I’ll do the smaller ones.

Here are the Easter baskets for the “girls” that Easter bunny left:) I remember doing up four of them on Easter eve and hiding eggs and I’m still doing that…thanks God for grandchildren, they sure keep you young!

100_2657

Well, ladies and gents I’ve got to work today at 2 so I sure hope you are enjoying this great spring weather we are having, I can’t wait to buy and plant some flowers how about you? I haven’t been to a yard sale yet but I think by the middle of this month they will be in abundance around here.

Have a wonderful day where ever you are♥

~Yep, That’s Me….

after the doc told me that the test couldn’t have been more normal, thank God, I do have to go back in 5 years because of mom having it but that’s okay. The procedure was a breeze but drinking that “stuff” is horrible, I sure hope in 5 years they come up with something different.LOL

How do you like this, I took this with a setting on my camera. LOL

100_2654

Well I better get to work, just wanted to let you know everything was okay with me.

Have a great Good Friday today and if I don’t get back on here before Easter ( I work tomorrow too!) Have a blessed one wherever you are:)

~Happy Birthday Michael~

Happy Birthday Michael…I can’t believe your 35 today, where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday they laid you on my stomach and you turned your head up to look at me, 1975 and you were my third one, and you looked just like me, I can’t tell you how much that thrilled me. You are also the picture of my dad even his build and mannerisms…I miss you both, my dad because he’s in heaven and YOU because your are in Annapolis, have fun in downtown Annapolis eating and walking around it has to be just beautiful in the spring. You have did so well with your life, put yourself thur college to become what you love…a history teacher…I’m so proud of you♥

Love you, MOM

PS. How old were you in this picture? 15?

100_2538 ~Ok, I’m teary eyed here so on to what makes us forget for a little while GW…which was really good to me today. I found these three rolling pins for .99 a piece, I couldn’t believe the price on them. All are very well used, now I think I have to put them in a bigger crock I have so many,LOL

100_2530

When I first spotted this I thought it was made of wood but it’s a type of pottery but sure looks like wood from far away so I’ll display it for .99:) Just have to see where it will go!

100_2532

I FINALLY found a light fixture for above the diningroom table and brand new I might add, they had four of them, it came with four globes but I won’t be using them:) Now I just have to spray paint it black and I think the wood part in Barn Red then stain in walnut…I’m open to any suggestions that you might have ladies and gents, what other colors (for the wood part) could I use? I have to get some candle sleeves and I saw those at Barbera’s Country Store last week so at least I know where to get them.

100_2529

I went to a really cute baby shower Saturday for my friend’s daughter Lesley, the theme was Mother Nature.

The Place Setting, the favor was the birdnest you see at the top, so good with the candy eggs, I think it was some type of pretzel that made the nest.

100_2514

Look at the cupcakes and they are sitting on burlap with pinecones and the tree too!

100_2524

On the invitation it said not to wrap the gifts that they would be displayed so that Lesley could mingle with everyone and also because they went with the green theme, I thought this was cute.

100_2515

This takes the place of a bassinet, it adjusts to the height of your bed so that after nursing you can just lay the baby in it:)

100_2516

I gave her the white wicker basket and in green on the front is embrodired Baby Things and filled it with things that she was registered for, found the cutest little Ralph Lauren socks ( BTW she is having a boy) the basket I found at TJMax, so adorable! It was different as far as not wrapping the gifts but neat I thought!

100_2517

Instead of games they had a Chinese auction all themed baskets that you could win if your ticket was drawn.100_2518

100_2523

There was more but just didn’t get a picture of them…I loved it although I didn’t win anything:)

Well, that’s about it ladies and gents, I’m posting on my lap top which I got back today.YeYYYYYY! And a big hello to all the followers and the newbies too, I appreciate it so much that you all stop by♥

~Tweaking Again, Pinkalicious & 1st Hockey Game~

Hi blogging friends!
I hope your Monday is being a good one, mine is, I'm off from everything soooo I'm doing laundry...all the bedding and blankets because it's quite chilly here in Western Pa. we had a frost warning last night but when I got up this morning I didn't see any...it will be here soon enough though! I see that Denver Colorado got some snow, Michael will be going there to visit friends and to go to the Steeler game so I hope it's nicer weather there that weekend.

I wanted to show you the top of my fridge, I know you have seen it before but not with this fabric that Lisa from Blacksheep Prims sent me, I had admired it and so she surprised me with two and said she was leaving it up to me to stitch the date on like hers or not...so I did and I love it! It looks so primitive there, thanks again Lisa:) This is in my entryway, I love white pumpkins!
I also bought another battery candle light, I just love them, I buy one everytime I go to The Country Store and I hope to get enough to help with the Christmas decorating around here. So far I have four!

Sunday I went with Michele and the girls to see a play called Pinkalicious Sydney and Samantha never moved the whole show they were so interested in it, they have the book and Michele says it's about worn out and that she knows it off by heart! A cute play!

You can see how crowded it was with mom's, little girls and Grammy's:)

Now last Wednesday I went to my first Penguin hockey game and I so loved it! My daughter, hubby and Sydney went plus Uncle Chris, Stush and I.
It was also Sydney's first time there too, she was so excited as you can tell by the pics!

This picture is right before it started and I love the music they play for the opening of the game!

Here she has the tickets!

Grammy and Sydney!

We caught the mascot as he was going to the elevator and he stopped to take a picture with Syd. Of course we didn't want that man in there but what are you going to do,LOL

Well, I'll be back for WWW... tomorrow I work then not again till Saturday, I'll be working more starting the beginning of November, hard to believe that Thanksgiving is next month. Yikes!!!

~Sweet Friends, Football & Country Store~

Hello Prim Friends,
How are you today? Cool and rainy here in Pa., yesterday the wind was blowing and it looked like it was raining leaves...amazing how nature works isn't it? Our yard now is covered with leaves until Stush uses the riding lawn mower on them:) I'm finally enjoying the fall weather... I fought it until I decided to just appreciate the show that He gives us:) It's so beautiful!

Life is full of little surprises, things that touch our hearts and puts a smile on our faces when we least expect it, that happened the other day to me when Stush brought the mail in...I could see the manila envelope in the pile of mail and was so surprised and pleased that the return address was from Lisa...Black Sheep Prims ! I just could not guess what was in it, I had admired the blue fabric that she had in one of her pictures with the stitching on it so sweet Lisa sent me two of the napkins, she said that she left the stitching up to me:) I finished it last night and have it in my fridge display, doesn't it look so nice? I love it against the wood of the box and of course I love the blue!!! Thanks again Lisa! Here is a close up;
Friday I went to The Country Store, always a relaxing time for me, she had some new things in, which is always a treat, Friday is my day where I don't watch kids or work so what better way to spend a couple hours then to visit your favorite store! I always buy one of the battery candles when I go there I needed one for the tin candle holder that I had found at the consignment shop for $2.00, I wanted to hang it here.

Next I found this picture of the Declaration of Independence hanging on the right...I'm not keeping it there though I think I'll hang it on the right side of the shelf above the sofa, just have to do it.LOL

Here is a closer view of it...wish I had taken a pic of the frame, it looks like it was done with a heat gun...rough and bubbly!

Friday nights in the fall around here are football nights, Stush is an avid football watcher and Steeler fan plus my oldest son is a high school coach, as of now he is undefeated and it's always a family night on Fridays. Truthfully, I don't watch the players( I don't know any of them although one of the playes is a Steeler's son) I watch my son coach...it's so funny because I can read his actions even sitting way up in the bleachers! Game before last the score was close but I knew we were going to win just by watching him, I could see the confidence in him and we did win, I can also tell when he is upset with the team, he isn't one of those YELLING type coaches thank goodness, I can see he is one on one with each football player. When they do what they are supposed to do and they come off the field there is a pat on the back, shoulder and helmet of each one. I sit there and think that he has learned so much...from his own high school playing , coaches and life and I'd like to think that some is from me too.LOL

There band is fantastic...you can see the band leader, in the black uniform, held up by other band members:)

Here the are all spread out on the field.

and here's my youngest Chris, sorry not a good pic of him) he is the stat guy, Michale used to be here too until he moved to Annapolis, MD. He said this time of year he really misses home and being there with his brothers at football time, he trys to make it home for some games.

Our Sydney:) drinking hot chocolate!

Michele and Samantha!
That's been my life lately friends, I work today so I have to get some things done around here, hope everyone is having a great day!!!

~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

I haven't really been working on to much lately because of work but I did manage to paint my wooden pineapple that I found for $2.00 at the store across the street from where I get my hair done. I just used what paint I had on hand and I think it turned out great...love it! Looks great in my step back:) Here is what it looked like before I put the walnut stain on! Oh, and speaking of work...guess who came in the store while I was working and came thur my line??? Can you guess? I'll give you a hint...she is the queen of crafts, makeovers and blogging. Yep, you guessed it right...

Char from the Pickled Pepper Patch I was so shocked and excited at the same time, I couldn't even tell you what she bought.LOL and lady's I tell you something else she is really pretty! So happy I met her and that she took the time to seek me out at the Dollar Store! Her daughter was with her too so I also got to meet her!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before work my morning started out with Grandparent's Day at Sydney's school. Here she is at her locker, check out the mirror on her locker door:)
Samantha was there too as it was my day to watch her:)
Stush and I got to go to her room which made me happy, I wanted to see her room and where she sat:)
Hard at work!!!
I can't believe she is going to be 8 years old soon, time is just flying by, I remember the day she was born... me and the boys were so excited and all crowded in the room holding her:)
Have a great Wednesday everyone and stop by My Country Home to see what everyone else is up too:)
