~Easter and Birthdays~

Hi everyone!

I can't believe Easter and birthdays are over, you can tell by the cake that there were more then one of us celebrating a birthday:) Wonderful cake too, Nick brought it from Bethel Park... so good! Michale was home too and it was so wonderful to have everyone all together.
These two came in their Easter finery and corsages:) Anxious to have the egg hunt and get into their baskets.

Reading their Easter cards and opening the baskets!

Posing all together but you can see Samantha is more interested in the baskets:)

My son Chris...Christopher Ryan to be exact, was born on April 11, 1980 weighing 10lbs and drinking 8 ounces in the hospital.lol He was such a nice size that the nurses used him for a model to show how to bath them:)
Chris and I lived together for about five years after the divorce each of us working retail and hardly ever seeing each other because of our work schedules. But we halfed the rent and he paid mostly everything, I bought the food and paid the electric. Hard to believe that four years have gone by. There came a time though that I knew he wanted to get out on his own and not live with mom anymore, I had met Stush and we had dated for a long time. I told him to go that Stush would help me but Chris said" I can't do that".
Well, it all worked out, Stush and I got married and Chris has his own place...I remember the day I finished cleaning our apartment after everything was moved out, I stood at the door before I shut it for the last time and looked at the empty rooms and cried...I'll never forget those years that my son stood by my side and helped me and wouldn't leave until he saw me settled...he's my baby and always will be:)

I'm working on what Stush built me for my birthday present, I can't wait to show you. The weather hasn't been good for doing any work on it but I'm trying to get it done for WWWednesday. It's chilly here and supposed to rain starting tonight and rain tomorrow but Thursday and on into the weekend is supposed to be in the sixties and I honestly can't wait:)

~Happy Easter to All My Blogging Friends~

First I have to tell you that I was just thrilled at all the 70 something birthday wishes that you left...wow, I just couldn't believe it:) Thank you ...it made turning 58 alot easier:)
I haven't been on here since because my camera needs charged and I can't find the cord for it, I have looked everywhere including under the beds!!! So Chris got me one at Best Buy but I won't see him till Sunday. I've really been having withdraw symptoms here but I have still been reading everyone's great blogs and all the great ideas that you have posted about:)
I stopped at the Dollar Tree to pick up the mesh sink strainers that Susie from Yankee Lane Primitives posted about to make into little flyscreens also got some plastic eggs...the grandaughters want me to hide eggs, then had to buy some birthday gifts because we are celebrating on Sunday! I stopped at GW but didn't find anything except a picture frame for .99! I guess the pewter goblets are supposed to last for a while for finding something good:)
I also stopped at the Country Store and she said I could take pictures so the next time I stop there I'll take some...it is really neat inside now:)
Have a great Easter with your family and friends...I hope it's a loving and peaceful one for you!

~Today's My Birthday~

Well, here I am...about 53 years ago, my kindergarten picture. lol I remember the gray skirt I had on that day...it had white poodles on it and the starched blouse with pink on the front of it, yes, it was starched there wasn't perma press back then, poor mom:). I'm watching Alex and Samantha so I doubt I'll be back on here today, hopefully tomorrow I can add to my selling blog. I did finish a cross stitch yesterday that I've been working on for what seems like forever but I could only do it during the day because it was just to small to work on at night! I finally got it done just in time for Easter! Sure wish my eyesight was the same as they were in this pic:)

Have a great day everyone, we woke up to snow this morning~

~Happy Friday Everyone~

It's a rainy one here today and has been raining since I woke up this morning:)

A good day to stay in and get somethings done that I've been putting off.
I was poking around in my hoosier cupboard and found these that I stashed in there .
I didn't get to the glass jar yet but did get all the candles finished so... here they are, I just used mode podge and cinnamon and pie spice and I let them dry and put them here...
the electric candle I put in the bedroom, doesn't look to grunged in this pic.

I put this tea light here with the grunged eggs:)

The other one here...

then I moved it to here...that's the fun of it though finding just the right spot and I think this one is it!

I hope everyone is having a great Friday and a great start to the weekend:)

~I Struck Gold at GW...I Mean Pewter!~

Hi blogging friends,
I just got back from watching Samantha all day then picking up Sydney at the bus stop then they wanted to ride bikes and play jump rope...I had already played hopscotch with Sam.lol Thank goodness their dad came home! I'm beat!

After I took Sam to preschool this morning I went to GW, I have about an hour and 45 minutes to look around until I have to leave and pick her up and this is what was waiting on a shelf for me as I walked in...yes, four pewter goblets at $2.99 a piece! I grabbed them because I knew this would never happen again:) I didn't even think where I was going to put them when I got them home just put them in my buggy! what find huh? Much cheaper then even finding them at the flea market! Well, that almost broke the bank with me but I did get this old 1909 book, which is a small one, I've been looking for one so that I can cover it with homespun. Also another round box for .89!
I forgot to add this to yesterdays post...it's a recipe box that I'm selling on my selling blog and also a crow plaque, so stop over to see:)

Last Saturday I had mentioned that I went shopping with Michele and the girls at a really high end mall, you know where all the rich people live?lol...I mean we couldn't even find a parking space, it was like Christmas! Well, they had opened a GW out there near this mall and I've always wanted to stop in so I made Michele drop me off while her and the girls stayed in the van:) I was a little disappointed I guess I thought there would be a lot of good things there but I didn't find them. I noticed that there was a lot more china sets then there are at ours but that's about it. I of course didn't have a lot of time to look but I managed to find a rolling pin for $2.00. It doesn't look it but it is an older one.

Also a nice tall frame that I painted black...I can just see a neat sampler in it:)

I paid a $1.00 for it...our GW never has nice frames unless someone gets there before me:)

It was beautiful today here in PA a little windy but it was good to get out and play:)
We are supposed to get thunder storms tonight and rain and cooler temps but that's okay it's getting greener outside:)
Have a great evening!

~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

Hi blogging friends!
I can't believe I haven't blogged for about four days, a real record for me:) But I'm back and here is what I've been working on...pantry cakes! I've always wanted to try them and the bestest recipe is the one I found from "The Primitive Country Bug" I just love the bunny she did I think he so adorable... so I will be on the look out for a bunny mold:)
Here is how mine turned out...I prefer the darker look to them and I had alot of fun making them, out of the recipe I got three so I guess it just depends on what size your mold is. The one below is made from a can of mushrooms, lol, just use what you have is my motto lately! The loaf pantry cake here I used little loaf pans from Walmart that come 3 to a pack and I think they were a 1.59... I think...it's been a while since I bought them.
Fits perfectly under the little fly screen that I have on my stove board...just love it!

This one I put in my corner cupboard, it's the smallest of the three that I did and for a mold I used a tomato paste can:) It's also sitting in a black painted jar lid the only thing I could find to sit it in!

This is my dining room table...Sarah from All Roads Lead Home showed her battery operated grubby candle so I thought I'd show mine...this is where I have it for now. You can put them anywhere, so I highly recommend them, The Country Store where I bought mine was all sold out when I went back to get another so hopefully she will get more in.

I have always forgot to show this, I've had it since I first started blogging...I found this at a porch sale at the historical society for .50, it was just plain old wood:) Yesterday I distressed it more and added some walnut stain...took it from the dining room to my bedroom, I don't know if I'll keep it there or not seems to me it needs old spoons in it so that would mean I'd have to move it back to the keeping room or kitchen.

I had Stush cut the bottom of it off because you see... it was a toilet paper holder.lol The bottom was where you put the toilet paper on a rod that hung below:)
I plan on going to Goodwill tomorrow to see what they have or if they put more things out... sure hope so, I need a GW fix!
To see more of what some bloggers are working on stop by Leslie's and visit Mr. Linky:0
I hope everyone is having a great day, it's a rainy day here so will be a good day to get some things done!
