♥ A Friday Surprise ♥

Good morning friends,
It's Sunday already and tomorrow is Dec. 1st where is the time going and why so fast? I am making a head way on my Christmas decorating though...just doing a little at a time still don't have my big tree up and I know I won't get to it today because I'm going with Michele and the girls Christmas shopping and also the Steeler's play today at about 4:00 PM. I know Stush won't want me by the TV decorating the tree:) so I'll do that tomorrow!
I worked till 5 on Friday and didn't notice the box on the porch when I pulled into the driveway and I guess Stush didn't either...when we went to leave at about 7 we went out the front door and there was my box from Karen from My Yellow Farmhouse in it was the giveaway I had won:) What a nice surprise after standing on my feet for 5 hours! I didn't get to open it until I got home...got a shower, jamies on then sat down to savor the moment:) Karen had it wrapped so prim and a sweet note attached...thank you Karen!
Isn't it adorable and I've always wanted one...now I can't wait till next fall, Corrie and Michael are here till tomorrow and I showed Corrie who loves country prims and she just loved it:) I just love the black background with all the fall colors:) Thank you sooooo much Karen♥

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend...tomorrow starts deer season, Stush was out yesterday posting No Hunting signs on trees, we live up in the woods so I really appreciate him doing that...I'll be glad when it's over, just makes me nervous to go outside for fear someone doesn't obey the signs.
Have a wonderful Sunday and enjoy decorating for Christmas♥ Oh and please leave a comment I just love hearing from you... lurkers too:) Means so much to me.

Finally got a picture of my daughter-in-law, Christine and holding Alex:)

Samantha...yes she insisted wearing shorts and a tank top and ballet slippers, her mother said she was not fighting with her and brought along warmer clothes just in case:) this was when they were leaving and she is holding in each hand a dinner roll to take home.

This is what I've been working on for, it seems awhile and instead of framing it I put it on a little cupboard door...love it! Next I finally finished my penny rug not great but at least it's finished and back on my dresser, I'm proud of just attempting to do it.lol
I hope everyone of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends...you have all made me so happy this year:)
It won't let me get my signature on here and I don't have the time to fool with it so I'll try again tonight:)

Snowmen, Tagged, Award and a Unique Giveaway

Good Saturday morning to you!
It's so cold here today only 23* right now, we are having January weather in November but the temps are going up a little next week...thank goodness especially for all those that still have to shop for Thanksgiving! Our turkey is out in the garage freezer and I'm really anxious to eat some:)
I thought I'd show you some of my snowmen that I've got out, I still have so much more to do and now with this job or I should say jobs...yesterday while watching the videos at Peebles the Dollar Tree called me for a job, well it's right next to Peebles so I told her I'd be right over after I was done here:) The Dollar Store needs me for day shift so I'm going to work both places...how do you like that, I went from no job to two jobs but I'm so thankful that this happened before Christmas!
Some of you commented on this ornament that showed in a pic in yesterdays post so I took a picture of it off the tree...know I didn't make it I had bought it a while ago at a craft show and it looked like his country stuff was from a wholesale place, anyway I just loved it!

I hung this berry wreath that I had got at a yard sale, four of them for $3.00 the window is from a old milk house and I paid $10.00 for it a long time ago:) Isn't the spool snowman cute? My friend from Missouri sent me it I usually have him on my big tree but this year I'm trying different ideas.
I love this guy, he's a nice size:)

This one here I got last summer at the historical society yard sale for a $1.00, who would sell him? I guess someone who just isn't country.lol Love his little shovel and sled!

My garden snowman is a cutey too:)

So soft and cuddley is this one!

The pic is of my mom at Christmas and she love Christmas so much so I had to put a snowman right by her:)

Got a Job for Christmas

Good morning!
I bet everyone is dragging out the decorations, cleaning and baking right now:)
I've did the first two not the third.lol Iv'e just been tweeking what I've already done and trying to get it just so.
I removed the quilt that I had underneath the tree and put this fabric instead, I think it brightens it up a bit more.
Oh, I did get a job, just for the Christmas season, at a small department store... Peebles, just about 7 miles away , which has made me happy that I don't have to travel:) It will sure help out for Christmas...all the stores are around there and I'll be able to shop before or after work, today I go to watch vidios and fill out papers. Oh, I'll still blog I could never give this up I have to many wonderful blogging friends to do that, and anyway I want to see everyone's decorating:)
I put some stacking boxes to one side I found these at the fleamarket in the 80's, they are homemade, inside each one on the bottom is a cutout of a child or baby...they are old but I just don't know how old.
I've taken this picture of the snowman twice and it still came out blurred...I guess he didn't want his picture taken:)

I know you have all been saying that you are finding things that you forgot you had well, I forgot I had these homespun candycanes that I bought from my sister this year at our yardsale...a bunch for just a $1.00! I finally found them under my bed in a bag.lol

Digging thur some more Christmas stuff I found this grouping of candycanes that I had bought on sale at the Country Store in Belle Vernon last year, I like them, they are very prim looking with a tag that says "Old Fashioned Candy Canes" I put them in this bowl for now on the coffee table and will add greens eventually, still have alot of boxes to go thur as I'm sure you do too:) It's fun though isn't it?
Also... has anyone been having trouble leaving comments on my blog? I went on blogger to see if they are having trouble with this and in a paragraph said that if you have these~ or these" in your title bloggers might be having trouble leaving comments on your blog and they were trying to fix that so... today I left them out of the title just to see.
Please don't ever forget that I love your comments and wait and check a couple times a day to see if anyone has left any. Everyone of you are so very important to me and I do try to answer your questions and comments on your great blog, I know that we are all so busy at this time of the year and will be till January when we get to just have one big sigh and relax and hibernate for the winter:)

One thing I have to do is move the tree across the room in front of the window because everytime Stush goes by he brushes against it, I hate to do that because I really liked it beside my hoosier but then again it will fill up that window and I won't have to worry about decorating the window:) I always like when something works out easy;0

Today I'm thankful for a job that will help out with Christmas expenses:)

~A Prim Wish~

Hi everyone,
I hope you are all doing well, we got snow today and it's just laying in patches but it sure put me in the mood to Christmas decorate, which I did but won't let you see until Wednesday!
Your probably wondering about my title of my blog...well it's just a wish that I've had since last November, I really want to get (someday) to this Simple Goods show that is held at the beginning of November each year. I didn't get to go last year and this year was just out of the question with Stush layed off and me not working. Plus I have to say I have no sense of direction and when I map quested it's 3hours and 20 minutes from me to Mount Vernon, Ohio so going by myself (which I would do) wouldn't be good plus I have no one around me that I'm friends with that would enjoy this prim show.

Candy Looker and her sister Max hold this fantastic show and I asked Candy if I could use the link with over 200 pictures on my blog so here it is...have something to drink at you computer and sit back and just enjoy the prim eye candy that you will see and you will know why I so want to go next year:) Also here are some pics of some great ideas I found for crocks:)

Samantha wanted to come to my house this morning instead of staying at her's so after I got Sydney on the bus we came here...here we are acting silly and I put a childs prairie bonnet on her, she looks like a prairie girl, and took a picture then she asked if she could take a picture of me, of course I said yes thinking the picture wouldn't come out...

Look... she did better than me and she's just three.LOL That's an adult bonnet I have on I don't think I would have liked wearing them back in the day!

Just a snowy, silly day with Samantha...I cherish them and hope someday they all remember me as a fun Grammy:)

~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

I've always had trouble with what to put on the wall behind my couch, I knew what I wanted but just couldn't afford $119.00 for it. I fell in love with this shelf and the length, 48", I thought was just perfect for my couch which is long. Right now I have pictures of the family framed in black with white mats and I've had them up there going on now 3 years, it's time for a change ladies.lol
Stush made me this yesterday...the only thing he had to buy was the beadboard! It's just like the picture and what I love most about it is instead of buying the pegs he used a dowl rod that he already had, makes it look even more prim:) I can't wait to decorate it for Christmas:)
So you can see what I'll be working on...I'm painting it satin black and really distressing it, then he will hang it for me! I think it will really add the primness that I'm looking for to the room. I think "Frosty", that I won from Angie, would look great sitting on the shelf:)
Be sure to stop over at Leslie's for more "Whatch Working on Wednesday." Now to get busy on working on Christmas presents:)
I'm thankful for...a husband who really loves me and puts up with my prim ideas:)

~Sydney's Birthday~

Look at that smile...such a happy little girl and so loveable! Loves school, books and clothes, sounds like her grammy except for the liking school thing:) Samantha... just wanting a chance to blow out the candles.LOL Saturday she had a party with her friends at the movies. The pink bag holds the boots that I bought her.
Opening more gifts:0

One of the books that I bought her, Junie B. books seems to be all the rage for her age, I got her three books in all.

All Samantha wanted to do is open a gift!

I finally got my turkeys out, the one on the left was my mom's I remember her buying it at Hallmark, it's a napkin holder which I use it for on Thanksgiving:) The one on the right I bought at Hallmark also, I should go and buy another one there and just keep adding every year:)

Right now they are on my mantel and I really can't wait to eat turkey I don't think I've had any since last year:)
Have a great evening everyone!

~The Steeler Game~

Well, I survived the trip on the bus to the Steeler game yesterday, we left at noon and thank goodness the bus was warm:) Of course I took pictures! Sitting beside my sweetie!

Us tailgating!

Our bus driver in the blue jacket...he was so nice, when I was getting on the bus I told him that it was only my 2nd time on the bus and he said "God bless you" LOL the bus can get rowdy at times.

Stush, always helping...I think he has one of those plastic bread ties or clip in his mouth, I have to show him this.lol

Getting the grill ready!

Yes, we even take the opposite fan along with us, he sure takes alot of ribbing:)

Of course they are selling things everywhere on the way to the game which we walked about 5 blocks to get to the stadium:) We bought a pink toboggan with the Steeler emblem on it to put in Sydney's stocking for Christmas:) She loves sports and always watches with her dad.

Even the little ones have Steeler fever around here, I know I wouldn't take little ones on the bus but to each his own, for me it just gets to crazy!

It amazes me that when I ask strangers if I can take their pictures and tell them they will be on my blog they pose and laugh...these people I guess were from another bus.

This cutie was on our bus, a nice kid, I also told him he will be on my blog he said "great"!

Here's a close up of a trailer that was next to us painted in Steeler colors and with Steeler curtains, love it!

We finally made it to the game as you can see we are high up but they were good seats!

You can also see the Heinz ketchup bottles and when they score the bottles tilt and the ketchup runs out:)

The Pittsburgh skyline and the river.

I go once a year to these games, last year I didn't go at all. I go once to have a good time but would rather be at the flea market or the Goodwill. Stush even would prefer to stay home and watch it on TV and while he watches I'm on the computer reading all my friends blogs:)

I can't take the cold but this is what I wore and stayed toasty warm:

Cuddles top & bottoms

2 pair of socks

fuzzy lined suede boots

jeans

black turtleneck

Stush's Steeler Sweatshirt

Stush's Steeler outwear pullover (I put this on before we left to go

to the stadium.)

At the game I wrapped up in a fuzzy Steeler throw with

Steeler mittens.LOL

Well, by the time the game was over I was more than ready to head home and the bus finally pulled out, now keep in mind there are more men then women on the bus!!! So about, I'd say 20 miles from home, our bus breaks down on I-79... Lord I was so afraid a trailer truck would hit us not knowing we were broke down, this is before the state cop came. They had to call a towtruck to come and pull us off the highway, towed us about 5 feet and cost the bus company $250.00 for him to do that. We waited about 2 hours for another bus to come and transfer us to it and get us to California, PA. After all that I was so happy to walk in my house.:) To top it all off the Steeler's lost in about the last 5 minutes of the game, oh well win some, lose some:)

Today is Sydney's birthday so we are going to her birthday party for adults, Saturday Michele had taken her and her friends to the movie then for cake at home:)

Take care everyone and have a warm evening at home:)
