Got a Job for Christmas

Good morning!
I bet everyone is dragging out the decorations, cleaning and baking right now:)
I've did the first two not the third.lol Iv'e just been tweeking what I've already done and trying to get it just so.
I removed the quilt that I had underneath the tree and put this fabric instead, I think it brightens it up a bit more.
Oh, I did get a job, just for the Christmas season, at a small department store... Peebles, just about 7 miles away , which has made me happy that I don't have to travel:) It will sure help out for Christmas...all the stores are around there and I'll be able to shop before or after work, today I go to watch vidios and fill out papers. Oh, I'll still blog I could never give this up I have to many wonderful blogging friends to do that, and anyway I want to see everyone's decorating:)
I put some stacking boxes to one side I found these at the fleamarket in the 80's, they are homemade, inside each one on the bottom is a cutout of a child or baby...they are old but I just don't know how old.
I've taken this picture of the snowman twice and it still came out blurred...I guess he didn't want his picture taken:)

I know you have all been saying that you are finding things that you forgot you had well, I forgot I had these homespun candycanes that I bought from my sister this year at our yardsale...a bunch for just a $1.00! I finally found them under my bed in a bag.lol

Digging thur some more Christmas stuff I found this grouping of candycanes that I had bought on sale at the Country Store in Belle Vernon last year, I like them, they are very prim looking with a tag that says "Old Fashioned Candy Canes" I put them in this bowl for now on the coffee table and will add greens eventually, still have alot of boxes to go thur as I'm sure you do too:) It's fun though isn't it?
Also... has anyone been having trouble leaving comments on my blog? I went on blogger to see if they are having trouble with this and in a paragraph said that if you have these~ or these" in your title bloggers might be having trouble leaving comments on your blog and they were trying to fix that so... today I left them out of the title just to see.
Please don't ever forget that I love your comments and wait and check a couple times a day to see if anyone has left any. Everyone of you are so very important to me and I do try to answer your questions and comments on your great blog, I know that we are all so busy at this time of the year and will be till January when we get to just have one big sigh and relax and hibernate for the winter:)

One thing I have to do is move the tree across the room in front of the window because everytime Stush goes by he brushes against it, I hate to do that because I really liked it beside my hoosier but then again it will fill up that window and I won't have to worry about decorating the window:) I always like when something works out easy;0

Today I'm thankful for a job that will help out with Christmas expenses:)

  3. Hmm.....I think I can leave you comments. That's strange that a little tilde (~) could cause so much trouble...it's just a cute little thing! LOL

I love your pictures and your tree looks oh so cute! I noticed the teeny tiny stacking boxes ornament in the photo of the candy cane on the tree. They are adorable.

The candy canes look very nice and for $1, that's a steal :) I have a pack of candy cane ornaments that I bought a few years ago to Prim up and haven't yet but all of the photos of candy canes have been really inspired this year!

Everything looks great. I'm getting antsy...the tree, the big main tree, will be coming out a week from today! YAY! I just cannot believe it, though.

Congrats on the job! Hope it all goes well! Some advice for working retail during the holidays...Keep smiling and be pleasant....kill the cranky shoppers with kindness. You'll have some interesting stories to tell us, I'm sure! LOL

    Have a great day!

  8. Rondell,
I am so happy for you that you found a job close to home for the holidays. I know that my job is only about 4 miles from my house and it is so nice. You have to continue blogging because you are one of my favorites. I love seeing your beautiful home and those precious granddaughters. I love those candy canes on your tree. I may try that (if I can find some plastic candy canes).
