~Whatcha Working on Wednesday~

I've always had trouble with what to put on the wall behind my couch, I knew what I wanted but just couldn't afford $119.00 for it. I fell in love with this shelf and the length, 48", I thought was just perfect for my couch which is long. Right now I have pictures of the family framed in black with white mats and I've had them up there going on now 3 years, it's time for a change ladies.lol
Stush made me this yesterday...the only thing he had to buy was the beadboard! It's just like the picture and what I love most about it is instead of buying the pegs he used a dowl rod that he already had, makes it look even more prim:) I can't wait to decorate it for Christmas:)
So you can see what I'll be working on...I'm painting it satin black and really distressing it, then he will hang it for me! I think it will really add the primness that I'm looking for to the room. I think "Frosty", that I won from Angie, would look great sitting on the shelf:)
Be sure to stop over at Leslie's for more "Whatch Working on Wednesday." Now to get busy on working on Christmas presents:)
I'm thankful for...a husband who really loves me and puts up with my prim ideas:)

That is absolutely the best shelf that I have ever seen! EVER!
    He really made that?
I would like to contract him to make some wood stuff for me! LOL
Mmmm! What else can you find for him to make? Now that he is in this creative mood! LOL
Wish Joe had the time and the place to make things like that for me. I have the ideas, but need him to cut and assemble!
That is really a nice shelf.

  17. Hi, It's Robin from The Robin's Nest...
I am leaving this message on everyone's blog that signed up for the Stocking Swap.
This is a reminder that everyone needs to send out their stockings to their partners by next Tuesday November 18th. If you have already sent out your stockings please disregard this message and thank you for being so speedy. :)
If anyone is having any trouble sending out their stockings I need to know TODAY. I am very understanding of the tough times some might be going through but do not want to see anyone left out. That would be very sad.
I do hope you all had fun making or buying things for your partners stocking and that maybe some of you made a new friend along the way~♥
Thank you for helping me make this Stocking Swap a success.

    Much Love,
    Robin

  24. I love that shelf!! I wanted to comment on the football game you went to. That looked like so much fun. I've only been to one pro game. Didn't care for it much, but thought hey, I'll get to watch the cheerleaders dance at halftime. No such luck, a bunch of overweight (and skinny too) ladies came out and jazzercised for everyone. What a hoot. A bus trip like yours would be very cool!!

  27. Well, Stush has really outdone himself this time, hasn't he? Can't wait to see it all primmed up! The snowman will look great against the black.

I think I read your question about wool in a comment. I get mine from repurposed suits and skirts at the thrift. 100% wool. I just got 2 of the most beautiful pieces ... pure bright red and another in winter blue! I just washed them up tonight and can't wait to come up with a project to use them. I got them for only 50 cents each! Can you believe it? I hope you can find some at your store too.

    Blessings,
    Lea

  40. I love your shelf...it is so fun when you have someone who can work in wood. I normally do the same with my hubby. But lately he is not as quick as to getting it done :)

My tree skirt is made of material...I am assuming homespun.
I bought it awhile back and just love it!

I want to continue on decorating today...I just love Christmas. All the things that come with it decorations...trees...snowmen...the list can go on...
