~Just This and That~

Not much that I'm doing around here, I helped Stush winterize the boat and put the tarp over it then left to pick up Samantha and Sydney. While I wasn't needed by the boat I took two more pics of the outside, here's a close up of what is on my front porch. This tree is in the front yard and I swear it turned gold over night, it's beautiful and so tall I couldn't get it all in the picture.
I have been stitchen though and I'm almost done with it, it's from Primitive Betty's designs...just love her designs!

Ahhh yes, my stepback, I really do love this piece.LOL

It's something that we both worked on for my birthday, now I'm thinking SETTLE BENCH. lol We keep are CD player behing the cupboard doors. Also Stush had drilled a hole in the back so the cord wouldn't show:)

Kris over at Simply Prim mentioned that she had bought a clamp on magnifying glass for cross stitch at JoAnn's. Well, I had a 50% off coupon and before work I ran in and bought one, I haven't used it yet because for the stitcherys I don't need it but to work on osenberg or linen I really need it...so wish me luck with that! Oh, and if you go looking for one they aren't located in the cross stitch section but in the notion part at least at our Jo Ann's they are.

That's about all ladies...welcome to my newest prim friends, I do have a question, in the follower section how do I get to your blog when I click on your picture?
Also, do any of you have any ideas for my husband and I to dress up for Halloween? I have tried and tried to come up with some ideas and I'm drawing a blank. We have already been a doctor and nurse, policeman, convict and pirates, would love to have some ideas:)

  1. Love your blog! On dressing up for Halloween have you ever been Popey and Oliveoil? I Know I mispelled her name lol What about Raggedy Ann and Andy? Love all the pictures you shared as well. The tree is just beautiful. If you want to get to someones blog, just click on their picture and look down to see where it says their blog and click on it and it should take you to it, I believe. Now don't hold me to that. lol. Have a wonderful day and be back again soon to visit your sweet blog.

  4. Hey Rondell, how are things? I haven't been by in a while and thought I'd pop in.
There's a commercial running right now (Canadian of course) for the 'perfect' couples costumes... Tim Horton's coffee and donut combo. LOL Might be worth a try...?
    Have a great weekend, Kimberly

  5. Gosh, I really do like your stepback with all the yellow ware! We put our CD player in the bottom of a cupboard, too. Speakers are in baskets on either side. My husband and I have enjoyed Halloween dressing as football player and cheerleader, bride and groom, pimp and hooker, doctor and patient, and French maid and butler. Of course I was the male, he was the female, and we had a blast!

  6. How about MnM's. Plain and with nuts. I used black garbage bags for brown MnMs and then cut out letters for the front (and back if you wish. It was a great conversation starter. LOL

Beautiful tree. I wouldn't change the fall in PA. Such wonderful colors.

  8. What a pretty russet color your front porch mum is!

Gosh, I'm terrible at thinking up cute stuff like costumes...cowgirl and cowboy? Goth couple? I guess dressing up as Balloon Boy and the silver balloon would be just too tacky...

  9. I'm so in love your with cupboard. :) It would look perfect with my blue shelf. LOL I have a cupboard I bought at an auction last summer. I'm still debating over a color...you always tempt me with your blue!

For costumes, I was thinking Barack and Michele...or maybe it would be easier for you to be Bill and Hillary. :) Can't wait to see what you come up with!

  13. Rondell, everythign looks great, as always. The stepback cupboard is awesome and decorated to perfection. We have some of the same yellow ware bowls.

How about Sonny & Cher? I was going to say Raggedy Ann & Andy, but several others have already suggested it. Or how about Herman & Lily Munster?

  14. Love the stepback cabinet, Rondell! I would love some more furniture but I think we have run out of room in our house.

One year when all the kids were still at home, DH and I went to a party dressed in regular clothes. When someone asked what we were, we said "very tired parents"!

  17. LOVE your stepback! But I adore your stitched ~*Boo Jack*~! :) You commented on my blog about an email... I haven't seen one. Can you send it again?

For Halloween this year, hubby and I are going as a Monk and a Nun. We have gone to a costume party for the past few years. Other costumes we have done have been 70s and 50s get-ups.... complete with hippie~hair and poodle skirts (not at the same time LOL). There was another couple that had a really cute costume once of a married inmate pair... complete with a huge chain connecting the two together at the ankle. Their clothing had huge black & white stripes. :)

    Smiles,

    Betty

  19. Haha...I was gonna say Sonny and Cher but someone already said that.
Remember the movie Grease? John Travolta & Olivia Newton John. That would be cute!

    Love your stepback cupboard!

  20. I still love your cupboard, Rondell. I'm so glad you're enjoying it.

As for costumes, we have a Hershey Kiss, candy corn, and candy cane this year. Maybe you and Stush could be M&M's...

  21. Rondell ~
I love your stepback! A settle bench would be awesome. I'm stumped on costumes ~ we don't do that so can't think of a thing. Our grandsons are the tinman & scarecrow & Gwen is Dorothy. Very cute.
I'm so far behind in blogland I don't think I will ever catch up.
I bought a magnifier but didn't like it ~ I use the cheater glasses from the dollar store for stitching on osnaburg. Have a great weekend.
    Hugs,
    Pam

  24. Hey Rondell,
I had to buy me one of those old lady viewers too...I got the one that hangs from my neck. I love it....a must have for cross stitching on linen.
