~What A Day!!!~

Well, it sure has been a day for me ladies...it started off with getting up at 5:30 AM to get ready to go to Michele's ( and read some blogs ) to take Sydney to the bus then watch Samantha till it was time to go to preschool, drop her off and drive back home to start washing Chris' clothes. At 11 AM I left again to pick Sam up at preschool for 12 then off to the drive thur at McDonalds then to her house. When I was home I had called The Country Store to see if I could exchange the shelf that I hated when I got it home, thankfully she said to bring it back it was just fine to do so:) So before I left to get Sam I had loaded it up in my car, her dad was home when I got there. Off to The Country Store I go down Rt. 88...my cell phone rings and of course it's in the very bottom of my purse soooooooooooo I'm scrounging around in my purse with one hand and steering the car with another and just took my eyes off the road for one second when...I HIT THE GUARDRAILS...oh no, gouged all along the passenger side. So what do I do? I go on to The Country Store after all the steering and everything was alright and I had to exchange it didn't I? One thing I learned is I'll never search for my cell phone while driving, I'll get it out of my purse first! The second thing I learned is Stush really loves me.LOL The only thing he didn't understand was why I continued on to The Country Store.:) Plus I had to get back home to wash about six loads of clothes!
I do think it looks alot better than the other one, at least I like it better:)

This wooden box holds all my prims that I don't know what to do with.

I had a question about this picture...I bought it at a yard sale for $1.00 and painted the wooden frame black!

I know this is a crazy post but it's about 10:30 PM and I'm one tired lady so I know you will excuse me...I work tomorrow morning so I better get to bed!
Have a great evening!

  2. Oh My Gosh Rondell! Are you OK? My goodness, I'm tired and stressed from just reading your post! LOL
Thank Heavens it was only the side of your car that was hurt!
I do like the red cupboard, and I like the black frame.
Have a way better day tomorrow OK!
    Take care of your self!
And I, along with everyone who reads this post will think twice about where our phones are when we are in the car! :-)

  3. Close call, Rondell in more ways than one! So glad it wasn't more serious. I know I've done exactly the same whilst driving. Yes, I think I prefer your new shelf - it all looks right together, I love it!

  4. Oh Rondell that sounds like something that would happen to me. I have learned to take my cell out of my purse and put it in my cup holder. Glad it wasn't to serious! And why not head on to the store...the damage was done and I am sure by that time you needed something to calm your nerves! It does look great! Beth

  5. I'm sorry, I just have to chuckle as I was reading this...as I sit here and the local morning news show is doing a piece with the Highway Patrol on a few things that cause people to be sighted for traffic violations...ahem...cell phones was the top of the list! LOL I'm so happy you are alright, but I bet it scared you! I try to remember to always take my cell out and put it in the cup holder so it's in reach, b/c those darn things just have a knack for burying themselves in the bottom of the purse! :) I would have done the same thing though and continued on to the store...you were on a mission! Love the new shelf...I think the other was just a tad bit to wide, and this one seems to fit better :)

  12. You are one lucky girl Rondell. No phone call is that important girl! So glad to hear you didn't get hurt.
I think your cupboard looks great. If you are happy with it then that is all that matters.
I love your yardsale picture. Do you know how much those go for at prim shops!! I have seen them upwards of $200.00+. I'll have to wait until I see one at a yardsale if I ever want one.
    Enjoy your day,
    AMY

  14. The lesson with the guardrail may have just saved you and those you love some serious injury. Glad you've learned from it. I would have been too shook up to go on for the shelf exchange. The second one looks like a perfect fit, so another positive thing came out of that trip!

  15. Rondell.......the good thing we can say about the situation is thank goodness you did hit the guard rails and not go left of center into on coming traffic. Just the thought of that can scare you for sure.
Shelf looks great BTW. Have a good day.

  20. Oh my! Sorry you've got a damaged car, but thankful you are OK.

I've done the same thing. Back during the summer,I ran off into a small ditch on the side of my sister in law's driveway beacuse I was looking for my ringing phone!

On the bright side, the shelf looks great!

  25. Gosh Rondell I'm so happy you are okay - thank goodness the guard rail was there - it kept you from going in a ditch or worse.

It doesn't surprise me that you continued on...we all would have done that. Women on a mission - nothing can stop them! lol

  26. Hi Rondell, Thank you for visiting My blog and for your nice comments. The cool rocking chair in my pictures is called a Tasha Rocker. My picture does not even begin to do it justice...it is soooo unique and prim!!! It was handmade by the Amish and then put through a very prim painting process. The company who makes most of the furniture in the store is located in Indiana. They has a website. It is www.oldetymesales.com check is out...it's an amazing place!!!! Blessings...Rhonda
