~November Doings~

Hi everyone!
Just been doing some little changes today...the weather is beautiful for November 1st, I for one can't believe it's November already:0 As you can see from my pictures the leaves are really falling off fast now. I've been outside today taking Halloween things down and in and leaving the fall things out. Here is my decorative flag, I do have a turkey one that I'll put up maybe tomorrow but I wanted to show you this one first. I kept forgetting to take a picture of it.
I took out the flowers that were in my flower boxes sort of sad to see them go but they lasted a long time, filled them in with fake leaves and pinecones from the backyard, there must be a million back there laying on the ground:)
I've always wanted to do this, have flower boxes to decorate for the seasons now I can...also can't wait to do them for Christmas too!

I brought some pinecones inside and put them in a crock!

Look at all the leaves...we could never rake them all so Stush just uses the riding lawn mower and cuts them all up. I get tired just looking at all of them!!!

Well, I better get back to work on my stitching, I think we are all busy with something aren't we?It's that time of year again everyone:)
Today, I am thankful for my children and grandaughters living close, Michael the only one who lives away but thankfully he is only four hours away and can be home for the holidays. Also for the beautiful fall weather we have been having:)

  3. Our trees here in the south are still mostly green, although some have turned brown and fallen off. We don't get your pretty colors. We're still running our air conditioners except for one or two nights when it got down in the middle thirties.

Love your November header. I've been eagarly anticipating it. It did not disappoint.

  12. I've always wanted window boxes too Rondell. I love how you decorated them.
It was a beautiful day here too. Suppose to be in the 70's for the rest of the week. Yea!
Ken does the same thing with our leaves, but after he mows them they go into the compost bin.
I've been gathering pinecones too. I left them lay out in the sun until all the sticky stuff dried on them. I almost never got that off of my hands. hahaha!

  13. I always wanted flower boxes but can't have them on this house because my house is made of foam on the outside and there are not to many 2x4's to attach the boxes to. So instead I will wait till our next home. Love how you have yours all decked out :) Your pine cones are huge!

Hope you are having a great weekend so far :)

  19. Your window boxes look great! I don't have one anymore so I guess I can't steal your idea, but I did try to fill pots that I had on the porch last year with things like that. I used to just take everything down in the winter and I didn't feel like doing that last year so I decorated what I had. One thing I did was cut up the pine garland and fill pots and what not and then toss a few pine cones in and even some plastic candy canes :) It looked a whole lot nicer than a barren porch!

I'm a little late responding to my comments from this week...I have a hard time keeping up with them somedays! Anyway, my Mom works for Kay's Jewelers. She's worked for several jewelry stores in the last 15 years. She's really good at it. Last year she won a contest because she was the top seller in the district for the year and Mom said their district even includes parts of NYC. State College is just a small area compared to that and she still won :D

Have a great rest of your weekend!

  25. Hello Rondell!
Hope you are having a great day today! I just ran across your blog and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it. I really like the way you did the window boxes. I tried doing them 2 years ago and I think they weighed too much becasue they started pulling away from the building!Looking at yours makes we want try it again.

  27. Looks great Rondell! In fact, I love the fall leaves & pinecones better than flowers. But I know I'm weird! I just love the simplicity and natural look of them. And your window boxes are awesome!

  28. Hi Rondell,

I just loved the pictures of the fall decorations. I would be thankful to have a riding lawnmower if I had to rake all of those leaves!

We are enjoying some mild weather here as well. Tomorrow is supposed to go up to 18 celcius..not sure what that is in F, but its pretty darn warm.

Just wanted to say Hi, and I hope to be back stitching soon, I really want to send you your valences before your Thanksgiving:)

    Wooly hugs,
    Trudy
