~TGIF and a From the Heart Thanks~

Hi everyone! I'm feeling a little better or I guess I should say in a better mood.:) I knew it was coming, the get a job thing, I just didn't want it. Soooo Monday I'm going to call Career Link and see if they can help me find a job to help out around here, who knows I may like it, I've worked before and I do like my own pay check.
I've been busy working on some gift things so I can't show them and while I had the coffee stain out I decided to stain this that I had done years ago and never stained it. Looks so much better:) I also put it in another frame and distressed it!

I'd also like to thank all of you sweet kind blogging friends out there that stopped and took time to leave a comment on my last post, I know there are worse things out there but when it happens you feel like you are the only one, each one of you touched my heart and now I know I'm not the only one that this terrible economy has effected...bless you for being such good friends and keeping me in your prayers.
Have a wonderful weekend!

  2. Keep your head up, and the thoughts positive, Rondell, and all will be well!! I am fortunate to be a retired teacher, doing what I love to do, and not having to leave home if I don't choose to!! Things are tough for all, though...and don't seem to be looking very bright right now. Thoughts and prayers going out to you, and my best wishes for finding a job that you just can't resist!!! Many hugs, Trudy in Colorado

  4. Best wishes on the job search. I still have 4 girls at home, so I don't have a full time job. However, I have been subbing at my girl's school to help out. I think we all feel the crunch. Hopefully things will get better--soon. Have a wonderful weekend.

  5. Oh Rondell, I know how you feel, so sorry to hear you have to work outside of the home, not always fun but sometimes needed. I work for myself, have for the last 16 yrs. cleaning houses, is this something that may help you? You can set your own hours? Good luck!

  6. I was sorry to read of your troubles Rondell; I know what you mean about the tear of loving home but needing income; and it is good and bad on both sides I know! The economy is really killing us all and I am not sure when it will all even out; I guess all we can do is just what we can to keep our families together. It is sad that so many have lost their jobs, homes now. Perhaps you will find something that will allow you to make the best of both worlds and not interrupt your time with your special granbabies too much; plus you will undoubtably make some new friends as you are a very sweet person it seems from reading your blog. Have a happy weekend; maybe this is your door opening when another door closes :)

Have a great day and good luck on the job front!
    Blessings, Kimberly

  10. Hi Rondell,
I understand how you feel...My husband and I have been talking about me going back to work soon too. I really don't want to and have been trying to budget food and such-Just yesterday I actually passed a craft store looking at it tempt me as I just kept driving on by! :) All and all we really are major budgeters anyway, so me going back to work looks like the next move. I'm like you, I do like having my own paycheck! :)

  11. Sorry I missed your last post...I had to read what was all going on. Good luck joining the work force again. I'm sure it is really hard to do and unfortunately some of have to. :( I keep on thinking if I should at least work on weekends or something to get some more $ in the savings...the future is so unsure and scary. I will see what I can do "extra" after craft fair season is over with. Hugs.

  12. Hi Rondell....I love stitcheries and I'm so happy you could re-do some of the ones you made long ago...makes them seem like new doesn't?

I'm so sorry you are in this situation - unfortunately there are going to be more before it's over. We are both retired and know how hard it is to survive! Bless you for being the wonderful supportive wife and helping - we all do what we have to because we know it's the right thing. I pray you find something that doesn't strain your body much - I can feel for your plight right now.

  15. I so hear what you're saying. I love being home and I'm always busy. I've been wondering too, if just for this winter even, I get a job to help with expenses. I think it's going to be tough for a lot of people. Thankfully, blogging doesn't cost us a penny to we can continue to hold each other up in prayer!
Your stitchery is wonderful and I truly enjoyed the pictures of your little grand daughter. She looks like she has a lot of fun with your dog. Hugs to you~ Birgit

  16. Hi Rondell,

Your stitchery's are always so wonderful. I have started my second one. I will get my first posted once I paint and prim up the frame. The second one is going to be a hand towel, a free pattern I found online.

Happy to hear you are in better spirits today. Enjoy your weekend and good luck for Monday.

  20. Rondell,

I'm behind on my blog reading, so I missed the last couple of posts. I really hope if you have to find a job that is something you enjoy! I'll be praying that way and that things are looking up for everyone!

I love that salt box stitchery in the post below and also the flag one! I am loving stitching too! I need to get more patterns!

I had also missed your word decorating post! I'm so glad you were inspired to look around your home for words too! You have alot of great ones! I enjoyed the tour! I love that big Country Home one and the one above your fireplace especially...

Well hang in there Rondell! I hope you have a great weekend!

  22. Hi rondell, I dont know if this will help make you feel a little better, but so many people are in deep trouble here too with the financial crisis. The worst thing here is that they are also predicting a huge rise in unemployment to go with it! Sounds awful. All we can do is hope that somehow things will turn around for the better. Keep us posted on your new job etc....and job hunting!

  23. It's hitting us all, Rondell. Hubby told me the other day that we're going to have to make some changes to our lifestyle too. Our savings account has nearly disappeared and our stock portfolio has gone from having a nice healthy profit to have no profit at all.

I'm not sure how we're going to cut back. We hardly ever eat out, we don't go shopping, don't go to movies...we don't even go to the dry cleaners. All we do is work. But I guess we're going to have to come up with something, just like everyone else has had to do.

If nothing else, this economic downturn has brought us all together.

    Hugs!
