~Ironingboard Redo~

Gee, I can't even remember where I bought this ironingboard.lol I think it was at our local library fleamarket in the 90's I lived several miles away at the time and little did I know that some years later I'd be living closer to the library and also belonging to it:) I should have taken a picture of it before I started to paint but I think you all know what a wood ironing board looks like and I did have it covered in old ticking before, can't find the pic but I think I deleted it.
Boy, the grass looked like I had slaughtered an animal after I was done but Stush didn't say anything when he saw it, I guess he's getting used to my spray painting adventures.:) I had my sewing machine cabinet in front of the window in my diningroom but didn't care for it there. It seems to me that I have to much wood in that room so I decided to do this leaves the almost floor to ceiling window more open I think. This would make a great sofa table too but I can't do that because my sofa has to stay against the wall because the room has to many doors, windows and a fireplace plus my sofa is kind of a bulkey denim.

This didn't take long to do either....some wood takes paint well and some don't and the ironing board didn't but I left it that way I liked seeing some knots of the wood showing thur. I've just been playing around with it as far as decorating goes so this is what it looks like as of now but you all know that it could change.lol

The embossed black canisters I foung at The Country Store, the herb drying rack was half off at a store in the mall because they were moving to another location, the little galvinized bucket .25 at a yardsale I adding the black homespun, flowers from the Dollar Store and my books are yardsale finds for .25 a piece. BTW have you ever looked at an older Reader's Digest's hardcover? I came across this one blog (sorry I can't remember which one) and she pointed this out so when I came across some I looked and they are all different and so pretty, the newer ones are just plain .

Well, I have to get a move on around here, I think I have to watch the girls today, so have a great day everyone the sun is finally shining today!

Can you believe it is July 1st already?

  10. Love it!! I have a wooden ironing board that I got at an antique store. The guy was getting rid of his booth and had everything marked 60% off so I got it for a steal. I actually use mine to iron on, but love how they look used as a table.
    Cute, cute, cute!!

  12. Don't worry about the red grass, it'll get cut off next time you mow. I'm sure the guy that does our grass has wondered about the white paint outlines on our lawn.
I'm so drawn to red so of course I love the ironing board. What a clever idea using it for a table. Looks great where you have it and all dressed up. :)
