♥ My Sunday ♥

Hi everyone!
Hasn't today just been beautiful out...sunny and a little warmer almost like spring:) Just put me in the mood for some springy things...I did get my spring blocks that I ordered from
Kindra I just love them and look how sweet they are, love the flowers that look like pennys:) I don't know where I'll put them but for now I have them sitting on my keepingroom windowsill~

I was going to the fleamarket today but just didn't feel like driving all the way to get there so after Stush and I went out to breakfast (which was at a new place called "Rt.40 Classic Diner" the look of it outside and inside is like a 50's diner...so neat!) I went to Goodwill and found some things, the fabric was $1.99 for at least 3yds of a tannish small check. I don't know what I'll do with it, it's not cotton...it has a stiffer feel to it.
I also found a brand new flag for $1.25 it has hummingbirds on eack corner and a Chysanthomum in the middle so for that amount I now have a new spring flag:)
A hardback book by Catherine Cookson, I love her books and have read all that our library has so I was excited to find this one "Pure As the Lily". The small rock that says Herb Garden I'll put in a pot this spring, I think it was only .49.
Oh, I can't forget the hanger for .69 I buy these for my sweaters:) All in all a good day at Goodwill!!! Yes, that's what I'm working on in the upper left hand corner of the pic and please excuse Stush's tax papers...I don't dare move them!!!

I surely can't go thur Belle Vernon without stopping at The Country Store...I got a yard of this darker blue homespun at $3.00 and this sweet sampler...just love that store:)

Have a great Sunday evening...on the menu for supper is stuffed peppers:) YUM!

  1. Rondell,

So are you the one that bought the blocks from Kindra! :) I plan to order that same set! I fell in love with them! I love the penny rug flowers too!

  3. Rondell,
Our weather this weekend has been great, too, feels like spring though I know it's too early but loved it anyway. I love all of your TS finds and the fabric and cute, prim sampler. I think I have that pattern somewhere. Your penny rug is great so far. I have to work on our taxes this week. I'm always glad to have that job done. Have a wonderful evening.

  4. Hi Rondell!....the blocks are very very cute!....it was also warm today in Central Virginia, too warm for my liking actually!....I am a winter lover and am in no hurry to see it go but I know there are alot of people who are anxiously awaiting spring....enjoy your dinner! Janet :)

  5. Hello, first I would like to say I like your blog and secondly....when I read today's post I didn't realize that you were talking about the area where I live. I have been to Rt. 40 Diner many, many, times and Belle Vernon shopping forever. I shop at the Goodwill that is down there. The only thing that I don't know where is, The Country Store. Would you mind telling me where it is? I work in Donora will be down that way on Tuesday. WOuld love to stop and see what the store is like.
I live by the Brownsville Drive- In.
    Such a small world.

    Have a good evening

  6. Ha ha ha~I received the same blocks from Kindra on Saturday! We must have the same best taste!
I put mine in my kitchen window sill so that I can think warmer thoughts as I am doing dishes and preparing our meals!
Kindra does such a great job that I also order the "home sweet home" set. It doesn't take long for me to start a collection!
    Your goodwill finds are great!!
I love the tan check fabric. And your stitchery that your bought is adorable. I love looking at other peoples goodies that they pick up...thanks for not disappointing me!

  7. So glad you like your blocks. :) I had them out displayed before I put them on Etsy and it sure got me in the spring mood! Great goodwill and prim finds. Oh and just love your header. :)

  9. Rondell,
What great finds you got at the Goodwill and the great blocks, too cute. Makes me want to get out to my local Goodwill. It's the thrill of the search.

The weather here in Western,North Carolina has been gorgeous. Come on Spring.

Your dinner choice sounds wonderful. I think I need to make some stuffed peppers or cabbage soon.

    Have a good week.

  10. Wow, what a great day!
Everything is just sooooo cute - I love the stitchery and the blocks. I just bought a couple plates with the penny flowers on.

I'm always amazed at what all you girls find at your Goodwill - I must live in a dumpy area! lol cuz there is never anything fun when I go in.

  11. Hi Rondell,
The weather here in Ohio has been very Spring like also. The block with the penny rug flowers is so cute!! Looks like you found some great goodies at the GW. I got some at ours on Friday and am going to post about it tomorrow.
    hugs, Cindy

  12. Hi Rondell,

You got yourself some great finds there. I am sure you will find something real great to snap up with that check material.

I so wish we had a Good Will Store here. I would probably be there all the time :)

We to had some really nice weather this weekend. Not quite as warm as you but warmer then normal for what is expected around here. But tonight they are calling for -29 with the wind chill. What a dramatic change in weather :( I am so looking forward to Spring!

  13. Hi Rondell:

I enjoy your blog but find it very difficult to see with the black color on the red. Is it just me or is my computer messed up? I may
have to give up reading the blog because of this.

Love that you are real with your life.

  14. Thankfully our weather has been a little warmer too, but not too warm so that it melts all of the snow and causes flooding.

I went to our local Goodwill today and got some goodies that I will be sharing this week on my new blog. :) By the way, thanks so much for stopping by and becoming one of my followers. That made my day! :)

What a great sampler, just love it. There are a few craft shops here that I can't even be near without going to.

    Happy prims and blessings,

  15. YUMMM - We love stuffed peppers! We have them for dinner all of the time!
What a cute stitchery! And the fabric was such a good deal!
Can't wait to see what you make from it!

  16. Rondell,
I love all of your finds. Love, love, love the blocks. Especially the flowers.

We had great weather this weekend in NC, this week should be the same. Temps in the upper 60's. Come on Spring.

Have a great day. Hugs, Tammy

  17. Hey Rondell! You got some really nice things. I especially love that little sampler! So sweet!

    Have a wonderful week!

  18. Hi Rondell-
You always find the bestest stuff :)
    I love Kindra's blocks.

We had a very nice weekend up in the northern parts...cold again today tho! SPRING is just around the corner....right?

    Enjoy your day-Kath

  19. We have had beautiful weather here, also.

You sure got some great deals at Goodwill. I plan on going one day this week.

    Have a great day, Denise

  20. What great finds! I love those blocks!

  21. Sounds like a mighty fun day to me!!! Please send your Spring weather to Colorado!!!

  22. Sounds like you hit paydirt~my kind of day!

  23. Rondell,

Love the sampler..and what great finds. I will have to start finding those hangers for my sweaters...hadn't thought of it, thanks for the tip.

  24. Rondell,
That paint was close to a Wmsburg blue but I added a touch of black to it to darken it. First I did a coat of white, then the blue/black, then sanded it, then put a thin coat of golden oak stain on it. Thanks for your kind words. Have a good evening.

Love to read each and everyone of your comments...thanks for taking the time to stop by for a visit... your always welcome♥
