♥ My Sunday ♥

Hi everyone!
Hasn't today just been beautiful out...sunny and a little warmer almost like spring:) Just put me in the mood for some springy things...I did get my spring blocks that I ordered from
Kindra I just love them and look how sweet they are, love the flowers that look like pennys:) I don't know where I'll put them but for now I have them sitting on my keepingroom windowsill~

I was going to the fleamarket today but just didn't feel like driving all the way to get there so after Stush and I went out to breakfast (which was at a new place called "Rt.40 Classic Diner" the look of it outside and inside is like a 50's diner...so neat!) I went to Goodwill and found some things, the fabric was $1.99 for at least 3yds of a tannish small check. I don't know what I'll do with it, it's not cotton...it has a stiffer feel to it.
I also found a brand new flag for $1.25 it has hummingbirds on eack corner and a Chysanthomum in the middle so for that amount I now have a new spring flag:)
A hardback book by Catherine Cookson, I love her books and have read all that our library has so I was excited to find this one "Pure As the Lily". The small rock that says Herb Garden I'll put in a pot this spring, I think it was only .49.
Oh, I can't forget the hanger for .69 I buy these for my sweaters:) All in all a good day at Goodwill!!! Yes, that's what I'm working on in the upper left hand corner of the pic and please excuse Stush's tax papers...I don't dare move them!!!

I surely can't go thur Belle Vernon without stopping at The Country Store...I got a yard of this darker blue homespun at $3.00 and this sweet sampler...just love that store:)

Have a great Sunday evening...on the menu for supper is stuffed peppers:) YUM!

  3. Rondell,
Our weather this weekend has been great, too, feels like spring though I know it's too early but loved it anyway. I love all of your TS finds and the fabric and cute, prim sampler. I think I have that pattern somewhere. Your penny rug is great so far. I have to work on our taxes this week. I'm always glad to have that job done. Have a wonderful evening.

  5. Hello, first I would like to say I like your blog and secondly....when I read today's post I didn't realize that you were talking about the area where I live. I have been to Rt. 40 Diner many, many, times and Belle Vernon shopping forever. I shop at the Goodwill that is down there. The only thing that I don't know where is, The Country Store. Would you mind telling me where it is? I work in Donora will be down that way on Tuesday. WOuld love to stop and see what the store is like.
I live by the Brownsville Drive- In.
    Such a small world.

    Have a good evening

  6. Ha ha ha~I received the same blocks from Kindra on Saturday! We must have the same best taste!
I put mine in my kitchen window sill so that I can think warmer thoughts as I am doing dishes and preparing our meals!
Kindra does such a great job that I also order the "home sweet home" set. It doesn't take long for me to start a collection!
    Your goodwill finds are great!!

Your dinner choice sounds wonderful. I think I need to make some stuffed peppers or cabbage soon.

You got yourself some great finds there. I am sure you will find something real great to snap up with that check material.

I so wish we had a Good Will Store here. I would probably be there all the time :)

We to had some really nice weather this weekend. Not quite as warm as you but warmer then normal for what is expected around here. But tonight they are calling for -29 with the wind chill. What a dramatic change in weather :( I am so looking forward to Spring!

  13. Hi Rondell:

I enjoy your blog but find it very difficult to see with the black color on the red. Is it just me or is my computer messed up? I may
have to give up reading the blog because of this.

Love that you are real with your life.

  14. Thankfully our weather has been a little warmer too, but not too warm so that it melts all of the snow and causes flooding.

I went to our local Goodwill today and got some goodies that I will be sharing this week on my new blog. :) By the way, thanks so much for stopping by and becoming one of my followers. That made my day! :)

What a great sampler, just love it. There are a few craft shops here that I can't even be near without going to.

    Happy prims and blessings,
    Stacey

  24. Rondell,
That paint was close to a Wmsburg blue but I added a touch of black to it to darken it. First I did a coat of white, then the blue/black, then sanded it, then put a thin coat of golden oak stain on it. Thanks for your kind words. Have a good evening.
