~Rocking Chair~

This was my mom's rocking chair, a neighbor had given it to her and I believe it was painted a dusty rose, after mom passed we divided her things and Michele took the rocker. Sydney was only 1 week old then and Michele painted it pale blue for the nursery, after it was in Samantha room. I saw it a couple weeks ago and asked her if she wanted me to take it home and paint it black so that she could use it in the family room. This is how it turned out, after it was done I thought it would look good here but no I'll give it back:) I couldn't resist putting a pillow on it and the geraniums below! So neat what a can of spray paint can do:)
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

I often debate whether or not I should paint my glider rocker black. I think I would like it more....

  9. Oh, I love it! I need to replace a chair in my LR and after seeing a black rocking chair in CS magazine, I thought hmmmm..maybe that's what I need. Your daughter's is very nice, how nice of you to paint it for her.
Isn't spray paint wonderful? I don't know why I didn't use it before. I just bought 5 cans yesterday at HD and I couldn't believe all the colour choices available now.

ps I'm just catching up on my blog reading. Are you taking anew direction in your decor? I noticed the changes to the bathroom.
I love anything vintage or vintage inspired.

    Have a great day! :)

  10. I have my Grandmas rocking chair in my living room. It is upholstered with the most hideous floral fabric, but I can't bring myself to recover it. It does not have a wood seat... it has wires and a frame with foam for the cushion. I just cover mine with a quilt. That chair looks great black.

  11. I love this chair in black. It is just beautiful. To think of it's journey through the years, the many babies it has helped to sleep, the lazy days out on the porch...it just boggles the mind. Treasures like this never go out of style.
